This is my first year of hunting I’ve got 23 acres of woods. I’ve found deer trails but I don’t understand why I only see does fawns and yearlings there’s no bucks. Although I did see them last year but so far nothing this year
@@Thebarebackjack86 bucks often have different summer and fall ranges. It will take a little bit to figure out your property. Keep at it and good luck!
Hi Chad, When Summer range ends for mature bucks in early fall...keep this in mind Sept 15th is much different then October 1st...many of those bucks your viewing during summer aren't nessisarily the bucks your going to capture pictures of during actual hunting season. Here's the main point...you want to determine the favorable travel routes of those bucks as they disperse...what you'll find is those hot spots when bucks come back to there pre breeding grounds...typically food sources will have an impact but its there instinct to come back to there security cover hideouts or in some cases fringe locations that keep them safe...all an all...its the seasonal travel routes that can help you score on Mr Big🎯🏹🦌🦌
Don't sleep on running summer trail cameras. I can think of multiple big deer that made their way back during deer season. Mock scrapes/community scrapes are king!
I like setting cams out all summer long that way you can at least see what is or isn't going on while your not there. I don't really use it to pick an exact spot to hunt just kind-of a baseline to make up a decent strategy, just think of all the trillions of hours ( us hunters) have spent thinking of the best spot ever! To me that's part of the fun. Sometimes I think I should do the exact opposite of what I think. Either way enjoy all of nature not just the kill. Don't trespass..don't be a poacher cause you want a big buck so bad your willing to do the wrong thing if you think you can get away with it. Who'd want to have to lie about this buck on your wall everything someone ask about it. Gotta go my wife's coming. Kidding..just do the right thing enjoy the fall.
