I have just discovered your channel. I have been thinking off and on about growing my own mushrooms. With your knowledge base and willing to share is so much appreciated. I have just seen you "dipping your toes" into aquaponics. If you ever decided to expand your farm into aquaponics. There are quite a few excellent RU-vid channels on Aquaponics. If Wisconsin can grow lettuce year round. You can too. Look into geothermal greenhouse in Kansas for a better idea that is also on RU-vid. Again, I want to say it again. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!! I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do with your farm. I will be devouring your videos and learn what you offer. 😁🤩

So... have you tried successive mushrooming? Like, spent oyster mushroom blocks might be good fodder for a different type of mushroom. Maybe Blewit or King Stropharia... maybe even something more mundane like Portobello. If you grow something like that on a spent oyster block, it seems like it'd reduce the amount of spent oyster block you have to deal with.

Thank you for the garden tour! The information you share about your mushroom farm is super helpful, but seeing everything else you do makes me appreciate you all that much more. Relatable! Oh and ground cherries are a physalis species related to tomatillos and golden berries. One of my favorite. Id love to trade some seeds if you guys are into it. just to keep the genetics mixing.

Hello from Newfoundland Canada! Ok Ok. We patreon Myers...so why not you a few pennies. Loving the videos! You might want to consider a $1 and $3 tier. Glad you got some pneumatics and a footpeddle. We built one too. We blow cool hepa air into our steam chamber to cool the bags faster and cut the last cooling day off compared to none vented timing. Zero contams so far (doing 3,000lbs a week) and grow some super slow species (all endemic natives).

I used my fruiting blocks too in the garden causing me big problems. C/N Ratio of the spent substrate is like 1-60 (or higher), so the carbon locking the nitrogen of the soil and vegetables have a big lack of nitrogen! Trying to fix now with urea. Dont you have similar experiences?

I've not had a similar experience with that. Our blocks still have a lot of nitrogen left in them when they go out to the yard.

Hey Andrew, this is John from Detroit. I love your videos, but unfortunately I’m a bit of a moron, and I can’t figure out how to send questions during your live feeds. In any event, I think you probably have the best life of anybody I know and the reason I say that is because I love the grow Mushrooms and if I could do it like you do, that would be sweet. Anyway, I will keep watching your videos and I really appreciate everything you do. I also communicate with down on the farm fungi and Gordotek and I find them very useful as well. I was thinking and do what you should do and not like I am an expert at all but maybe have an educational class. You know a lot about when you need to spawn or make substrate or inoculate or Sal or whatever and I think a lot of people don’t know about that, and I guess by that I mean me! Lol I really want to make this happen for me because it’s something that I’m really interested in and I retired early to have some fun and this is what I have found my passion to be. I would love to come and work for you for totally for free for a week just so I could learn some stuff. Sounds desperate doesn’t it? Lol thanks bro I appreciate everything you do. Also, I just built that laminar flow hood from Gordotek and it works great.

It doesn't seem like any company is doing king stropharia fruit, seems like pretty much home growers just sell extra. Wonder why that is because they're a choice edible. Anyone doing king stropharia as a business will have no competition. There's only one company in town that does mushroom cultivation and they just do oyster varieties.

I'm currently a plumber's apprentice, but spent 17 years as a carpenter, and I am thoroughly enjoying the structure of both the room you built as well as the PVC system you designed for your humidifier. I don't see any primer on your system. Did you glue the PVC together with clear glue and primer, or just dry fit it? I understand not bothering with glue and primer, since the system is only being used for humidity,... just curious.

Mate, your videos are da best yo! Thanks for sharing so much of your wonderfull system, what a great thing you got going on there man! I have like a billion questions, but i will try not to throw'em all at once, hehe About the steamer, could you give me some advice on how to build one? i see that yours, (meaning no offense), looks very low tech, and that is exactly what i need. cheap and easy to bulid.. Apparently you dont need a solid lid on top to to keep some additional pressure inside? mayb you could do a video? :D I still need to find a reliable source of proper woody material for my blocks, but i have faith that i will in time. (almost everything is made out of pine here) Dude, about the diet, one thing helped me a lot, was quiting the bird food (Grains), maybe you could check mercolas website out, he has tons on info about food and nutrition (google doctor mercola) Tilapia! yes! thanks mate, that looks great, and you dont need much space at all from what i see... i have some big ponds here at the farm , but i think tilapia need a more tropical climate, right? you add heat to the water i suppose.. and you just feed them vegetable scraps from the garden? I will be waiting for the next one, keep spreading culture man, thanks again, cheers from South America! (Enjoy your Mate, i personally cant quit coffe, and i have tried, hehe)
@Mossycreekmushroomsofficial
@Mossycreekmushroomsofficial 5 лет назад
Yeh, the bird food really seems to be the root of the problem. I'll check him out for sure! I do heat the water in the winter time. As to the steamer, it's just a 55 gallon drum with a high temp refill valve and a couple of elements to it. That's it.
