I learned that Moran helped to inspire people to travel and visit these amazing locations. He also helped Congress to support the protection of these beautiful locations.

I had never heard of Thomas Moran before this video. Thank you so much for spotlighting him. I learned that although Mann was already a great artist, along with his brother, Edward, it seemed like it wasn't until he decided to travel out west to Yellowstone that his notoriety really took off. He really made a visual impact with his beautiful paintings and gave people a true look at the beauty of the west.

How lovely! Stunning painterly style. I love that he learned with his brother. Incredible family legacy together. His art reminds me of the Hudson River School painters. I’m thinking they may be contemporary, and will look into that soon. Thank you for the introduction. ☺️

Thank you for bringing this artist to my attention. His work is new to me. He brought the west to the rest of the country prior to the railroad being constructed there. He learned to ride a horse and hiked with his supplies to paint Yellowstone before it became the first national park! He was an influencer of his day through his art!

Anthony, I love learning about artist’s lives, art journey and works. Thomas Moran’s art are masterpieces. The fact that he did not attend art school nor have any formal training is astounding! Congress’ recognition of him by purchasing his work is gratifying. I look forward to seeing your Diamond painting of his piece “Chasm of the Colorado” - very appropriate for you! Thank you for the thorough & enjoyable video. My maternal ancestry is the name of Moran, prompting me to do some research to find if there is a relation connection.

I learned so much with this video. Honestly, I may have seen his work living in the West but would not have known who it was. A self-taught artist. What a gift this man had and how nurtured it. To think he passed away almost 100 years ago and yet his art is still used. Amazing. I really enjoyed the video you put together. I love how you had your hike with Apollo in black and white in the back ground. It really added to the atmosphere of the whole video. Thanks.😊

Beautiful video- love how you put this together! It’s a pleasure to listen to and take in. Moran had such talent my gosh! His way of capturing the light steals my breath. I can’t recall hearing of him before which is fantastic! It gives me something to enjoy digging into. I love that he went on the expedition with a photographer to Yellowstone. So often I’ve wondered if the land really looked the way an artist portrayed it generations ago. What a remarkable discovery to see such proof essentially side by side! I’m awestruck. Understandable why you appreciate his work.
