Hey there everyone and thank you for checking out this channel!
I started diamond painting in January of 2022 and quickly fell in love with the craft. I decided to start creating some content around the hobby pretty early so I could share my journey into everything as well as my experience with the various diamond painting companies that are out there.
Stick around as we explore all things diamond painting and happy placing!
Very interesting content. Thanks Anthony. I love learning that Yellowstone was the first National Park. I use to live in Montana and visited Yellowstone often. Thomas Moran’s paintings are beautiful
Hi Anthony! Great video as usual. I had never heard of Thomas Moran before! I definitely learned that he’s an amazing artist and that I need to get some of his artwork in a diamond painting!
This was very interesting!! As one who doesn’t have much knowledge of old artwork, this was all new to me. I didn’t know who Thomas Moran was. The Chasm of the Colorado is an amazing piece of artwork!! I’d never seen that painting before!! Thanks for putting so much effort into giving us a little history. Like I said, it was really interesting and I just found a new piece of artwork that I love!!
Thank you for producing this amazing and informative video. I loved learning more about Thomas Moran and did not know that he started with marine paintings. His artwork is breathtaking.
Wow! It's so cool that he was able to encourage the founding of multiple national parks through his breathtaking works. I didn't know that he was so important to the parks in the US!
Anthony, thank you again for spreading your fountain of knowledge with the community. TBH, I knew nothing about Thomas Moran so everything was fascinating 😂. I thought it was really cool that he created illustrations of Yellowstone even though he had never been there…like what? 🤯 How freakin cool.
I love landscapes! Interesting to learn he painted as he traveled the west and his art inspired people to travel. Thank you for these interesting insights into artists!
Wow! Thomas Moran was one of the purple who got Yellowstone to be a national park! That's amazing and his artwork is soooo 😍 pretty. Thanks for this video. I love these and learning more about old master's artists!
Another great teaching video. I never knew the role he played in Congress designating Yellowstone as the first National Park. I have traveled though that park twice and I can just imagine how he saw it with his eyes in that time.
It’s amazing how someone can be inspired to learn from friends and family as well as Learning how to ride just so that he could go out in nature and see how nature is in real life so that he paint nature as he sees and painting nature as it would like before people started building on the lands.
Hi Anthony thank you so much i have alot going on right now & this was/is a wonderful little surprise <3 I wrote you at your email in your description ;)
I did not know anything about Thomas Moran before this video. I think one of the most important things that his art has done is shown people the magnificence of the Western United States. ❤
I'm in Sweden, when I moved here and started learning Swedish a whole week was devoted to learning how to recycle. My three year old even has outdoor cleaning and recycling days. She can tell you about compost piles, recycling and responsible water consumption. It's part of the culture.
Hi Anthony, I had forgotten that I had Spring by Alphonse Mucha in my stash. It’s also from Distracted by Diamonds so I’m really interested in seeing how yours turns out. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Thank you Anthony for another great video! I had never heard of Thomas Moran until now and his art is beautiful. I learned so much from this video but the best was learning that he had such a vital role in Yellowstone becoming the first National Park.
Apollo, you look so young! Must be that white fur. Anthony, I think it's great that you will be doing another Distracted by Diamonds kit. I don't feel that you bashed the company, it didn't come across that way. I think you gave an honest opinion about the particular kit you were working on and stated that that was not the norm from the company. I think it's great that you are going to follow up with a second kit so that we can see that either it was just a fluke, or maybe there really is an issue. Thank you for your honesty and critical observations, it's mostly those reasons that I trust your opinions.
The candle thing is a big no and extremely scary. I wouldn't burn them either, if they have good throw just leave the lid off to get some scent.. Concerning minimalist "pharmacy" brands, welcome to the dark side. 🤣😍
I have had the same thing happen to me before caught my TV on fire. I won't use candles in glass jars anymore. Too scary. On another note I love that you care about what Apollo eats. I work at a pet supply store and it's so frustrating when pet parents won't take advice on what they should be feeding their dogs. Apollo is such a happy, healthy boy.
Hi Anthony & Apollo. Don't know if this is going on other places around the globe, but here in Denmark they are hoping to making "Plastic" from sugar beets from around 2026, there is so much research going on these years. The goal is to make water/soda bottles and soft plastics as a start I think. Can you imagine all the soft plastic in a kit being made from that? The plastic around the kit, the dustbag, the toolkit bag, the plastic on top of the canvas and the plastic around the drills. That alone would help a lot, and then use recycled cardbord on top of that. I don't know if Resin could be made more environmental friendly, someone way smarter than me has to look into that. I am almost done with my 2nd row on "A Question Of Reality", Kind of wonder if I will be nearly done by September. Love and hugs to the both of you ❤❤❤
This was such a fun artist to learn about! I had no clue who Thomas Moran was, but will for sure be looking up his paintings now. I love that he painted the national parks and had a hand in helping to preserve that beauty for future generations!
I bought a kit I dearly love from a reputable shop with the same issues you describe. I have put it away and it has been a few years since I've been able to look at it. I love the image so much and it will be beautiful. Now that it has been some time I am thinking about going back adding extra glue in the areas not completed and trying again. Ordinarily I would just toss it but I love the image. So.... I appreciate your honesty about this kit. Thank you!
I got a Distracted by Diamonds LARGE canvas in squares...loved the colors, loved the rendering, but there was too much space between drills....large areas of gapping. I got 60% of it done and am so frustrated I have not returned. Yesterday I pulled it out along side a new canvas from another company and chose to do the new canvas. I just don't want to be that frustrated again. I would like to try some of their other canvases....I have never done a DAC squares...now I am nervous about squares... Honest reviews help organizations improve and if seen as the positive tool reviews are, you can use that feedback to make changes and GROW your business!
Hi Anthony, what a great deep dive into a non-European Old Master! Beautiful artwork from a naturally gifted painter. Everything you talked about was new to me so I learned a lot about Thomas Moran and may want to get one of his ocean images for 2025 SWTM. Thank you for sharing this with us!
What a fun video. I learned so many new things but my favorite was that Jackson would photograph Yellowstone while Moran would paint it to prove the sites existed. Sounds like such a wonderful adventure!
I learned so much with this video. Honestly, I may have seen his work living in the West but would not have known who it was. A self-taught artist. What a gift this man had and how nurtured it. To think he passed away almost 100 years ago and yet his art is still used. Amazing. I really enjoyed the video you put together. I love how you had your hike with Apollo in black and white in the back ground. It really added to the atmosphere of the whole video. Thanks.😊
Thank you! I did not know Moran removed signs of civilization purposely from his paintings. I also enjoy diamond painting landscapes without houses and other signs of human interference.
Thanks for another great video. I never knew how important art was for the national parks and the history of the United States. Now I what to go see more of Thomas Moran works.
It's kind of sad that your area doesn't do more recycling, you would get a chock if you would ever come to Denmark and see how much is recycled here.. Maybe that would be interesting to find out, how it's done around the globe? I just got curious.
Thanks for your video and all the info on Thomas Moran! I found it very interesting to learn of his involvement in getting Yellowstone the classification of National Park. It was pretty cool to hear that his paintings helped create interest to travel to many locations!
