I wouldn’t change a single thing in this recipe. I can’t express how much I appreciate these fantastic recipes you share with us. Your presentation is amazing. The olive combination from Costco and using both white and dark balsamic vinegar puts it over the top! Thank you!!
OMG!!! This salad is divine!!! I made this a side to go with a piece of roasted salmon. I thought my hubby was going to eat his plate, it was that good!!!! Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe!!! Cheers from Tampa.
Thinking 1/2 recipe great for a single person to eat thru the week. Love these combos. Made similar with brown rice re a GF need for a family gathering. Never seen Orzo in a GF yet.
So, So, Good! We can't eat white pasta, so we made ours with brown rice and it was delicious! We add the dressing just before serving, but everything else is all mixed in. Love all the flavors, and so does my husband who normally doesn't go for that sort of dish. I only had dark balsamic, so I used half dark balsamic, and 1/2 pomegranate syrup. This is definitely a keeper. Thank you for such great recipes as always.👍
Just made this with what I had. Didn't have orzo so I subbed rotini pasta. Didn't have white balsamic but used red wine vinegar instead. I also added heart of palm and marinated artichokes. Followed the dressing recipe otherwise. Its delicious! Great with chicken and fish. This recipe is staying on my rotation.
Hi Dimitra, I don't know. I'm obsessed with your Greek Potato Salad, but this looks like it could give it a run for its money! I love suggestion of mixed olives. THANKS!
Oh yum, I am definitely going to try this. I love your recipes. I have lost count of how many times I have made your Greek roast lamb. Thank you and greetings from Australia
Dimitra, I make a similar Orzo salad. I use dill instead of Oregano and I squeeze a little fresh lemon juice when making the dressing. I also add a little bit of super finely chopped Vidalia onion or any other sweet onion then I toss it together when still warm and enjoy it like that. The next few days I eat it cold but really prefer it warm. Peace be with you.
If you live in the Houston area Restaurant Depot carries Dodonis. Phoenicia also has it and my local costco doesn't carry dodonis but they do have a very good organic sheep's milk feta that's pretty good :)
@@DimitrasDishes Thanks for your response. I live in New Haven area, Connecticut. Our Costco used to carry Dodoni, but no longer. There are several European Grocery Stores that carry it. There are two Restaurant Depot nearby, but we aren't able to get membership 😢
If you're looking for gluten-free options for your Mediterranean Orzo Salad, here are some great alternatives: Gluten-Free Orzo: Some brands offer gluten-free orzo made from ingredients like corn and rice flour. Quinoa: This is a fantastic gluten-free substitute that adds a nice texture and is packed with protein. Rice: Both white and brown rice can be used as a gluten-free option, providing a different but delicious base. Cauliflower Rice: For a low-carb option, try using cauliflower rice. It's light and absorbs the flavors well. Chickpea or Lentil Pasta: These alternatives are gluten-free and high in protein and fiber. Feel free to use any of these substitutes to make your Mediterranean Orzo Salad gluten-free and just as delicious!
Whenever I cook, orzo, it sticks really badly to the pot. What am I doing wrong? I'd love to solve this problem because I love orzo! Thanks in advance!
I added them when it was warm because I was short on time and was recording 3 other videos. It's best to wait till the pasta cools to room temp and then add the veggies :)
