So, prep, installation and reaction to adding Sumo Springs to my truck. It's not especially entertaining, but I hope it's very informative for those of you thinking about getting or needing help installing them. Hope you find it helpful...there is also a mysterious bird. Apologies to all Neanderthals.

You nailed this, especially the review. Definitely feels like someone adjusted my drivers seat. Ride is so much smoother, and more stable.

You made me buy the black ones!

I just put mine on and they have about 1 - 1.5 inches of clearance on a new Off-Road with nothing in the back yet. You must have a decent amount of weight to immediately be resting on them from the get-go! I'll be getting a topper soon though and tow a camper with it as well, so I'm hoping they'll help with that.

Well I did have the canopy and RTT on at the time. The RTT is 125 LBS. Not sure about the canopy.

Just order a pair for my ‘18 Tundra. Lots of squat right now when I tow my travel trailer. I hope these help.

Thank you for uploading this video. I am getting Sumospring too. For your setup it looks like you need higher spring rates on the rear: either an additional leaf or just new beefier leaf packs. Not certain about this, but I don't think the Sumosprings are supposed to be compressed all the time.

You said your seat seemed to flatten out in which I found seat jackers for my 2011 Off Road by Desert Does It and what a difference. It raises the front of the seat 1" 1/4 and I used the 3/4 spacer for the back of the seat. Anyway these are the same Sumo Springs I have been looking at and will get shortly.

With all that stuff in the back I can imagine that you were riding on the bump stops alot!

@@RevN3 has the ride feel stiffened or softened?
@RevN3
@RevN3 4 года назад
@@gvsukids Depends on the situation. It's stiffer in that it doesn't roll as much on corners and feels more stable but it's also softer when going over a rough spot the back end can handle it better and doesn't go flying all over the place. If that makes any sense.

Did you have any kind of lift on ur Tacoma thanks
@RevN3
@RevN3 2 года назад
Not yet, no. I never found myself needing one...until recently. I added some ARB skidplates (not recommended) that took about 2 inches of clearance and I'm also seeing the leafs in the back are in need of replacement so I expect I will put in a 2-3" lift this summer as well as add some leafs.

Like a lift? No. These are mean to keep the truck from going too low but it doesn't add any height.
@DMHal01

Man you should have measured height before and after!
@RevN3
@RevN3 4 года назад
I don't think it made a difference really. If I remember correctly it doesn't even touch the frame unless there is weight in the back.

If anything it solves the "Taco lean" we all have.
