My mom grew up in California in the late 50's. She once told me that it was vogue to write on one's thigh with nail polish for the same effect. Probably a lot 'neater' look, too.

I would kill to go back to this time. My dad said he feels bad I didn’t get to grow up in the 50’s/60’s/70’s and even the 80’s. Life was so much better before social media. Instagram came out my last year in college. And Facebook my first year it was big. But before that there were so many less pressures and you actually went outside and did things!!!

I think I had a barbie that could do this. You'd leave stickers all over her and leave her out in the sun, and she would "tan".

+MandyDoll people still do this at tanning salons. google it, its called Sunburn tattoos. But, the "tattoos" are like hearts or sun designs nothing like humongous letters on your back.

i don't understand i did this at the beach all the time with my friends, but we wouldnt write stuff we'd just do like stars and hearts and stuff it's not really serious it was just fun cause you could do it

I have another comment. I wish I could build a time machine and go back to the 1960's. Then I could wear a Speedo suit and be out of shape with a belly like the guy at the beginning of the video.
