After treatment it takes about 10 days to heal. The site will appear darker, dry up like a scab and eventually peel off. The skin underneath may be red for a couple of weeks but this should fade. Do NOT be tempted to pick/peel the skin off as it is healing as this can lead to scarring. If any brown marks are still present, a second session should remove all of it.
Thanks for mentioning about the scabbing. That's the stage I'm at now, and was wondering if this was to be expected. I'm sure I was told when I had it done, but the freezing sent all instructions from my brain. (And yes, I was tempted to pick at the scab but will refrain)
I find it takes much longer than that.Usually 4-6 weeks or more for the marks to completely go away.I just had 8-9 of these treated on my chest abdomen. No fun.
I had this done on my check about 30 years ago. I can tell you it worked but after a significant amount of time has passed I am now left with a raised white hypopigmentation spot surrounded by brown hyperpigmentation. My current dermatologist says it looks like a scar. I recommend seeking an alternative treatment from a med spa.

It will scab up and eventually fall off. It will be lighter than the skin around it initially. It will be very tender and you should use extra sunscreen on that spot until it darkens up like the rest of your skin. Just had it done today and that's what he told me 👌
@@ryanscottlogan8459 Even in New Zealand, they are only $20 each time they freeze the skin.A nurse at our docs rooms does this after doc has agreed to it. Doc makes sure it's nothing else needing other treatment.
I am starting to have Skin Lesion on my coller bone, and on my chest, maybe my back but I can't see them. I went into the skin doctor, he did not say anything about freezing them to get rid of them. I fact he said nothing but stay out of the sun, and use sun block. Now that I know, should that have been included with my visit? I wonder if I can by this stuff and do it myself?
Your regular doctor will usually do it for you for free if they're cool and you have a good relationship. I've done it a few times. Works like a charm!
I had this done to remove wart on my nose. It worked. I tried burning it off with a laser treatment 3 times. That didn't work. So then I tried the freezing.
I did one treatment and it did scab up then came off but now I have a slight ring like scar not as dark as the spots before but I’ll try to use some natural remedy to hopefully blend it away but the treatment did remove the spot
@@rachelwalton3772 Yes , permanently . It removes the pigment in the skin know as melanin. Just ask your dermatologist . The process is painless and not a big deal. A woman would be able to cover it with make up.
@Birds Not Bombs it's a delayed reaction . Very Cold at first, then a sting/ burn . Nothing crazy like being burned on a stove or anything. Just a slight sting/ burn . Nothing crazy at all.
I had this treatment done this morning, I had this brown spot on the left side of my face for 9 years I tried all the over-the-counter creams and oils nothing worked, I hope this will remove it. It is 11 pm now and my brown spot is now very dark, it looks worst. I do know it gets worst before it gets better/before it disappears for good. I have Kaiser and didn't have to pay anything.
@@arodderz after about a week it scabbed and a week after that the scab came off. I don’t think it’s healed completely yet. It’s a much smaller spot now but it still feels a tiny bit rough like it’s going to scab again. So far I’m pleased with the results.
@@justingreen8006 Nitrogen isn't "harmless", but it is safe to breathe in this context. "The bends" are a result of dissolved nitrogen evaporating from your blood during de-pressurization, and breathing pure nitrogen for a minute or so would kill you (lack of oxygen), but it is safe in this instance.
My dermatologist performed this procedure on me yesterday for hypopigmentation (Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, thats what she said I had) and I actually wasn't expecting to have the procedure done. It stung for a bit but after about 30mins, the "sting" was gone. She froze some spots on my hand and they still haven't blistered at all & they are dark, I am scared they will remain dark forever. She also froze 3 small hypopigmented spots/patch on my face and It looks dark and only 1 spot looks like it's blistering. Phew, if i knew this was how it was going to be, I wouldn't have consented to the treatment because my spots weren't that big of a deal to me, I just wanted to get the diagnosis but I somehow ended up getting Cryo on my FACE! It doesn't look good to me right now and I'm scarred those spots will get permanently scarred :( (I have darker skin). I had some events to attend this week, but I'm not sure if i can put make up over it, but I hope it heals in the next few weeks, *Fingers crossed*. I'll be applying shea butter& vaseline and see what happens. Pray for me :(
@@BabaSphere The blisters formed a scab afterwards and they have fallen off. Now the pink new skin is healing and fading, just like an injury would. I am just glad it is healing up. But i would not do cryotherapy again, it's just not worth it.
i had this done about 20 years ago for a red patch that looked like a sun spot. Painless and healed over nicely with no clues left behind that it was previously there. I am in New England and so far local ads online show derms using laser! Ive had that done to this current spot and it did absolutely nothing [other than demonstrating what its like to be punched in the face].
My doctor sprayed on my hand without asking me 3days ago, because I had one smaller than hers. Right now it looks darker and looks like burnt, I am worry😞
