i bought one recently too and really like it. I stack a few square baking pans, upside down, and put my baby seedlings on them to get them closer to the light.
Hey Karen, perhaps you can try putting an empty Tupperware under young seedlings inside the dome to get them closer to the light. You can take it out once they grow taller.
Hmmm the only blue part I’ve had on mine was a blue protective film on the inside of the fixture (on the reflective panels), which you remove before use. If it’s not that, I’m not sure what it is, sorry!
Hi Lisa, once they’re established, you can open vents more and more and eventually remove dome. I would definitely recommend removing it from greens as they don’t like being that warm. Tomatoes and peppers love warmth so it can stay on them longer. :)
I have been having a real problem finding replacement bulbs. I live in Arizona and as wondering if you know of anywhere in my region or on line where I can purchase the Sunblaster 18" T5HO 6400K Lamp?
I had a hard time too. Ironically, I ended up finding them at the same local garden center where I purchased my original dome. I’d research to see if any of your local garden centers carry the dome, then ask them if they have the bulbs or can order them for you. Good luck! :)
Thank you, I'll give that a try, and could you give me the name of the garden center where you purchased you'res? maybe I could order one there and have it shipped. :)
I got replacement bulbs from a local grown shop several years ago. If you have grow shops in your state/area, give them a call to see if they carry them or can get them. I did have to dig a little to find replacements.
Perfect timing for me! (May 1, 2020) I don’t get a smart pot, btw. 😕 If you now have source info for the T5 lightbulbs, please qdd to show notes for this video?
