For shipping Minkie: I have noticed that pet beds made of Minkie type fabrics are sold and shipped in an air-sealed bags. I know they are not Minkie but are like fake fur, I do not know for sure. They ship small and puff up in a short period of time after opening. I traveled with my clothes in sealed bags and that worked well. I used special bags and my vac to suck the air out. Just a thought. Thanks for everything....Hugs!

Speaking of Minkie in a warm weather states, trust me, they still will be used, not just because we like to snuggle up and watch TV but If anyone’s husband like mine (we lived in Florida) He turned the Air Conditioner down so low that I was always Freezing in the house-So, yes Minkie, Yes!! 🙌 🥰

I made 4 king size quilts and shrink rapped all of them and sent them to Montana, Alaska, North Dakota, and Texas, everything made it there safe! 😊

A Pika is a separate species from a mouse. Cute round lil guy that lives in the mountains, has a high pitched squeak alarm call, and dries flowers and grasses to eat over winter!

I love using Minky on the back of my quilts. It also save me a bunch of time by not having to put batting in between. I'm working on a memory quilt of my grandkids baby clothes for my son & daughter-in-law. I probably won't be able to get it done for this christmas but maybe for their anniversary since it's going to be a king size quilt.

Sorry to comment twice, but my wonderful long arm lady, shrink raps all my quilts that she sends back to me, Minky and all. It all poofs back up❤

Just an fyi, I used polar fleece to back my last 3 yard quilts for nursing home residents. It was from Joann's and it only had stretch with the selvedge, like Minky. I quilted both on my long arm and had zero issues, washed them both after quilting. I don't think I'd use it for a large quilt, but it did work well for those smaller ones.

Hi. Pika are of the rabbit and hare family. Roly-poly body, round ears, and no external tail. Very talkative. Herbivores, and are active during the day. Even though they are not on the Endangered Species list, their numbers are dwindling due to climate change. They can not tolerate heat for very long due to their fur. 😢

I sent an over size king quilt from Vancouver wa, to Guam in one of those bags. It arrived great. No moisture got in it and it stayed condensed.

The heart shaped silicone thing that you wondered what it was: you use that for cleaning your cutting mat. The silicone helps to remove threads from the mat.

hey y’all. thanks for the video and talk of minky. i was recently at a fabric store and bought some minky type fabrics and they were using electric scissors to cut the furry stuff and there was only a teeny tiny amt of fluff from the fab. i was apprehensive about buyin it bc i know how it is for the cutting person but those scissors were amazing. might look into some for minky cuttin people!!

I have made an I Spy tumbler top which I will back with minky fir a close friend who is going to be s first time grandma. Tummy time size.

I have a pair of earrings that were made that way. Similar but different.

I have shipped quilts in space bag without any problem. Also packed in suitcase to check on airplane.

I can tell you that the quilt and Minky will ship like that as well. I put all of my extra yarn, and believe me when I say I could open my own store, in one of those bags and it sucked down just fine, I even had to get into it for some yarn to give away and it returned to its previous form unharmed. lol signed Tracy in Idaho or AKA the purist lol not a lover of minky or AKA plastic lol

Oh Cyndi!! Sorry, but I have worn mismatched earrings for 25 yrs!!! 😂😅😂 My ex used to check my ears every time we went to see his mother. Made him soooo mad! (Who cares, don’t look) And I also had a third hole punched so that when my littles lost a post, I could have a place to put the remaining one.

I made some scarfs last year and found out I could make 2 narrow ones from a kit as we only needed a narrow one here in socal

We have used those space bags bringing kids to school amd home...SF to Spokane and SF to Denver. Also use them when we have had to move. If they are space bagged, then in a sturdy box- even if some air gets in, it won't "explode".

A friend of mine owns multiple pairs of "chucks" style sneakers. She always wears two different colors ...if she matched, I would question if she was feeling OK!

I am finally watching "Sunday's box opening". I struggle with what to put as a backing. I want my quilt to be just right. But I just have a regular sewing machine. I listen to you saying just put minkee on the back. Do you still quilt it? I like your idea and I am inching towards doing just that. I have 2 beautiful put together quilts. Cindy, I've just gotta tell you that your hair is super pretty.

We use the “shrink wrap bag” ALL the time when we travel! You can pack twice as much in your carry on ( which isn’t always a good idea 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️)! It can get really heavy really quickly!

Cindy, you have to remember being able to buy missed match earnings in the 80s.

Hi, thankyou for all your video and the free handouts! Wow! I have a question- I can only free- motion quilt on my regular machine, I tried to free-motion with MINKY on the back, it was crazy hard! Any suggestions? The fabric wouldn't move or allow me to move it. I tried to make my sewing surface as slippery as possible but it wasn't enough.

I think the heart thing might be a cutting mat scrubber. I love the feel of minky, but it is so full of static that I shock myself repeatedly, even though I use fabric softener. I would rather use flannel.

I can envision a giant order minky box being set free inside a postmans truck after shrinking it to a dime size. 🤣 - I am very curious about that fabric, but dread working with it.

You have to consider where people live with using Minky. I live in Houston and a heavy quilt with Minky just isn't practical for us hotter states in the south. We have very few "cold" days and it wouldn't get much use.

Why do you say "Miniki Kim" when it is spelled Minki Kim....like the very soft-furred animal (mink)? You must know something I don't know.

Maybe you need to delegate that job. Even though it's a learning curve over time it will be beneficial.
