The church allowed the devil to destroy mass gospel choirs and don't even realise the cost of this. If you've been in the presence of a choir singing like this, God always shows up, the anointing is incredible and people start getting saved. It is imperative that the church wakes up and bring these God ordained ministries back to the church.
This brings back memories of Sunday Morning in my home town church in rural Southwest Alabama! We got all dressed up for the Lord and we had a good time praising Him in gospel songs! We forgot about our troubles, hardships, injustices and we cried out and shouted all over the church for the Lord! We knew in Him we had and still have our being!
Same . I grew up in upstate New York church folks there used to carry on the same way . It wakes you right up and makes you glad to experience another day of whatever .
My mom has dementia...but the Lord is still in her ...When I put this gospel medley on she gets to patting her feet, clapping hands and even sing to the songs she knows ...Praise the Lord she still has that .

That's because when you have a relationship with Jesus it surpasses just the mind and goes to the spirit. Dementia is of the mind, not the spirit. A relationship with Him supersedes the basic and goes to the core, to the heart. It transcends this life. I have often heard my pastor say that even if he lost his competency he would still know Jesus is God. This world is temporal, fleeting at best. Building a relationship with Him is lasting.

My grandfather and I would listen to Mississippi Mass Choir each morning getting ready for church. He recently passed, but I can still hear us talking about the Lord, listening and praising the Lord on Sunday mornings. This is what the old saints called " Precious memories."
These songs literally dispel darkness becuz satan canNOT stand in the presence of praises to GOD! I was struggling today and turned this on and GODS joy and strength have filled me up!😇

Been thinking about drinking again. Tuesday it will be 31 years since I last drank alcohol. I have honestly thought about starting to drink again recently. Something brought me here this morning. This is much better. Even though I've been crying for an hour straight since I started watching. I haven't really cried in a long time. It's long overdue. Thank You. My Mom also suffers from severe dementia but when we put on Gospel music like this she still at age 96 knows how to Praise her God. To God be the Glory keep on keeping on. Saints ✝️🙏🙏✝️
My dad experience the same we both sung in choir he would visit a church that knew he was a singer and at 86 their Pastor would ask to stand (he was on a walker) and sing a few verses of song. That stuff is hard wired in their minds Don't stop doing that (my dad live another 1and One half ) Those songs bring a since of peace to them It something to see them reminding them of old times You are doing a mighty work now You won't regret it
I'm 75 and I truly miss the Gospel songs. At my Hillcrest Baptist Church . The younger generation Sing well but it's mostly Contemporary songs 😢 . That's how many Churches in Chicago is.

I would love to go to a service like this! I might be the only white guy in the church but that's okay. I would be welcomed, no doubt about it, and I would start shoutin' and showin' out, I'd go to have church!

What a blessing to have grown up with this old time gospel music. It always brought you home. When I'm traveling I take my CD's with me. It's too bad the "night club" gospel is so empty. I believe they call it contemporary. I can't get anything out of it. Old time gospel lights up my soul with hope love and joy. You get a wonderful message while listening to it. Praise God Almighty.

I agree Thomas. I'm french, been welcome at the Canaan Baptist Church in Harlem, 116 st like if I were born here. I felt part of the family during the whole service. Rev Dr Thomas D. Johnson Sr made sure that any visitor from any part of the US or abroad were welcome. The choir was absolutely stunning, I for a moment, I felt god was here we us...this is by far the best experience I had this year and i'm still moved by the service.
