I was one of the stewards that game ive never been put in such a situation like that in my life because first it started as verbal abuse to the lines woman but then we got notified someone in the easinton end had a knife and thats when the club staff got involved because everyones life was put in danger now i don't know if its true that one of fans had a knife but in a situation like that we all had to act
None of them had a knife, they were about 14 and said they’d matched the lino on tinder, its kids being kids just like the Blue Star youngens running on the field at the end. Aye, its out of order but we’ve all done stuff we wouldn’t be proud of looking back to that age, they’re bairns at the end of the day. 1800 people there and about 3 stewards, great set up at Blue Star and they’ll be going places but howay man. Sounds like massive sour grapes, they were outplayed and deserved to get beat, small minority of fans on both sides shouldn’t take away from that. And before you say, I’m not a mackem, I’m born and raised in Easington and go home and away with Newcastle 👍🏻

@@cameronfinn1 us as stewards at first had no idea ehat was going on until we were told to go act i told 2 of them to stay back with the others while me and another one went to go see what was happening thats when my boss told me one of them had a knife which is why we had to act like i say i don't know if it was true and judging by what you said it wasn't but i was just there to do my job i was being told we needed to move them which is what we did otherwise the ref would have called the game off

Here, I've seen on numerous occasions before MOTHERS all over Facebook almost bragging that their sons join up into groups & get involved in this sort of thing.... like it's some sort of official club or association that they think makes up for the years they never bothered with their boys taking them to proper organised sports (whilst taking their daughters all over & treating them like princesses) & probably standing in the way of allowing their fathers to help or worse still, choosing some incapable loser as a father in the 1st place knowing they'll have little to no involvement. These lads need help & guidance, NOT from disinterested women who don't really understand them but from the good Men of their communities who want the best for the future of society.
The Mackems are just venting as they know they're completely and utterly insignificant. An absolute nothing team, that won't change for the foreseeable, if not ever. Not to mention, they'll forever be in NUFC's shadow. As you can see, they're taking that existential dread and realisation pretty bad. I just worry for the seagulls.

I genuinely almost feel sorry for the mackems sometimes. Live in an absolute dump, nothing "city" thats literally only just enough to even call a city. Its more of a town really. Poor show from blue star as a club. Give free entry to the kids under 16 without enough officials to manage this. As a club they must learn how to manage this far better than this.

Nasty that but you handled a situation admirably that could have got far worse. However its unfortunate that youre well known now. Not only by Toon fans but many others. Youve had a go and ridiculed Mackems in the past but perhaps that should be toned down or even stopped no matter how much itll get a laugh and please the Toon fans. Its not quite Salman Rushdie but you get the idea. Someone with an anger complex or having drunk more than a Pepsi might do something far worse than throw a plastic bottle. Might sound like I am getting at you but having met you and thought you were a smashing lad, erring on the side of caution is often a wise move as you did so well following the attack. Stick to Toon news which you do so well and try and avoid increasing the hatred many have even if no response looks like weakness. Im old fashioned of course but if Rangers fans had kept on coming in 69, id have been the first kid theyd have met and might not be here to send this. So saw a lot of bad stuff in those years. Appreciate your words of wisdom Phil, I understand the field of work that I am in and am aware that some people out there will look to intimidate / hurt me under circumstances of intoxication or the use of drugs. I wouldn’t be doing this if I couldn’t handle some Sunderland fans looking for a fight and I will continue to push with my content and to support the club I love
