In 1970 Henry Mancini approached working on the Italian production of "Sunflower", starring Sophia Lorena and Marcello Mastroianni. Under the direction of Vittorio De Sica the movie became a success, surely some credits go to the composers work, who wrote a great theme and a great dramatic score, which was appreciated with an Oscar nomination. This was (is) a great soundtrack to a very heart-wrenching movie. Earlier (Peter Gunn era) a young John Williams played piano for Mancini's orchestral recordings. Does anyone know if he played the solo for Sunflower?

Today it is the 1st time to listen to this music since I watched this film in1970 when I was so young.I do remember and feel the same feeling as it was that time .I never forgot it .Thanks to the media .this movie with those unreputable stars is a permenant print in human soul.
