That is so sweet! I hope to have a yard full next year so I can share. However this year I was so blessed to move into a house where one was growing in the back yard. I am really looking forward to harvesting it. This year I am going to keep the harvest on this one lol b/c I love sunflower seeds, & they are one of my favorite foods in the whole world. I have never had them straight from the plant before always the store bought ones. I'm really looking forward to how they compare, lol.
not gonna lie! I never knew exactly where sunflower seeds came from and now I know it’s from the actual face of the sunflower itself! It’s amazing to see them just pop off!
For anyone who is wondering, the seeds come off easier if you dry the heads in the sun for a day, but this method also works if you're only harvesting a few
I saved heads from sunflowers given to me last year but didn't know how to find the seeds! Thank you for your simple how to explanation! I can't wait to grow my own sunflowers this year!
Amazing…. The seeds are a great source of nutrients that your body needs.. Nature is brilliant and provides everything we need… we as humans need to run away from processed foods, and get back to basics of eating… the odd take away now and again is fine..
I’m growing my own sunflowers and right now two of them are 10 days old and they have 4 leafs each and it’s really satisfying how the seeds come off so I’m gonna harvest my own and plant more!
beautiful. today i harvest a few for the 1st time. one of the sunflowers were white, I was surprised, I thought I only planted black and black whith gray stripes.
Thank you, I grow sunflowers every year and either forget to watch a video on this or the squirrels and birds steal them! I actually put out peanuts and bird seed on the other side of my yard so they stay over there as much as possible. Off to harvest.
Hi i have a question - how long does it take for the seeds to fully develop on the flower head? Cos my flower died off and i took the seeds but i noticed when i squashed the seeds they were all hollow inside
HOW?? that is ginormous how!!😂 hhow did you harvest? did u just cut the top off? and do you leave it like that and it grows a new one? so many questions!
My grandma grew sunflowers at her old house.. every year there were more and more and her yard was overrun by them, now i’m not allowed to grow them. any tips?
