Rumor has it there are 3 of these cars that have very rare hemispherical heads which produce approximately 650hp for the 302 cu in arrangement. Love it! I miss my 1968 383 equipped 'Maro !
That Camaro is my all time favorite car. I'd rather drive that than any Corvette, Ferrari or Porsche. The red interior was a requirement of Mark Donehue, the Champion that drove that monster in 1969.😎
@@paulcarter2879 I think acid dipping was pretty much standard practice in Trans Am racing... I got the 7/8's Camero story from two different sources.....it may not have been the SUNOCO Camero, but it was one of them. The racers thought there was something off about the car and they couldn't quite figure it out, so they went out into the parking lot and measured a Camero out there and it was a bit bigger than the race car. That story was backed up by by my engine builder and friend, Dave Tatum , who drove the Burien Mercury Cougar in Trans Am and knew everybody back in the day. Dave's team got caught running an illegal 302 Tunnel Port after about three races But like Smokey Yunick said...... "It ain't cheating until you get caught".
@@godsowndrunk1118 I wouldn't put it past them! It's too bad that all that racing and that old school generation is all but gone too. In my opinion Smokey was a bad a$$!
