I too fly out of 1k4 and enjoy your local destinations but it would be more interesting if you show points of interest at your destination: Where did you have breakfast? How was the restaurant and food? How about the marina at Cedar Mills, cabins for rent, etc. Less of XC flying, instrument panel, etc. and more of why you went there and what you liked about the destination. Thanks! Keep up the good work.
Definitely not! The engine is being overhauled at the moment and being upgraded to 160hp. But it's taking longer than planned (part shortages, shop delays...etc). So I've been flying in other airplanes to stay current and proficient.
@@CaptScafe Ahh nice, I think when you bought it it had something like 1000 hours or so on it. When I bought it it was 800 hrs. Did it make full TBO or did it start making metal?
Nothing really wrong with the engine when I pulled it at just over 2200hrs. I could tell it was tired but it wasn't making metal. We just decided not to push our luck and we wanted to upgrade engine/prop to get back (or gain) some speed without sacrificing takeoff/climb performance.
@@CaptScafe That is good news. I know Mike Bush says run them until they tell you to stop, but I wondered how long she would go. The guy who owned her before me over in Ohio only flew like 10 hrs a year and he owned her for 10 years or so. I think you made the right call. Enjoy the new engine and prop. Mike
