I'm a mom of two great kids and a therapist and I TRULY appreciate how upfront and open you've been about mental health issues and the need to get support. Depression and Anxiety affect the majority of people but so often there is a sense of fear and shame around opening up about it. Seeing people like you (happy, successful, etc) who can opening say that they've struggled is a HUGE help to those who need it :)

Dear Kathryn, Thank you for using your platform to bring more awareness to mental health. I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Depression when I was in my late twenties (I am 48 now) and also struggle with severe anxiety. I’m so thankful to God for leading me to a wonderful psychiatrist that has a passion for helping those of us with mental disorders and not just a med pusher. She took the time to help me find just the right meds for my issues. While it has changed my life...some days are a struggle sometimes, mostly with anxiety. You are such a joy to watch. Your sincerity comes through in your videos and I believe that is why you have such a strong following of subscribers on YT. My teen daughters love watching your videos with me and we have enjoyed watching your sweet family grow. Thank you for your transparency and for sharing your life with all of us. I lost my mother and brother and mother-in-law and I struggled for a LONG time with depression and just feeling totally numb. I was so close to all of them and I felt like I lost my very best friends. I had to slowly start over and force myself to take care of ME. I do a lot of the things you talked about, but sometimes I still struggle. Watching this reminded me again of how much better I feel when I am consistently taking care of myself.

Kim Brooks Kim... I TOTALLY understand and can relate. ... I lost my mom ( my best friend), grandparents and 3 of my pets in the past 7 years ( a loss consecutively) .... It sucks!!!! I'm just starting to get it together!!!! Now just struggling to find work and dealing with that .... Hang in there!!!!! Life is tough...but we are tougher!!!! ❤💖💕❤💖💕

Thank you so much for this video, I have struggled with depression for years and now have the added "fun" of anxiety attacks since I was diagnosed with breast cancer and sarcoma of the glutes. I am thankful they are both in remission at this time, but still struggle with what if's. I love your suggestions about rising earky, used to do that years ago for my quite time before work and caring for two ailing parents. I am finally learning ( at least trying) to put myself first. I love the list making and I set a timer for 15 minutes and when it goes off I evaluate what has been accomplished and if energy level is still up I go for another 15. For myself I have had to learn that working on a project is progress! It does not have to be perfect, but keep going forward till finished. Thank you for keeping it real, you are an inspiration! !!!

Thanks a ton Kathryn ! This video has come at the right time for me. I am a working woman and staying at home last year got me into depression and frustration. My family is an early bird whereas I am a night owl. It was so difficult for me to adjust into their new system. I was clueless about morning routine though I made and failed over them many times. What I love about your video is that you have been thouroughly practical about it- you too can get distracted with family members. Thank you for helping me out in planning for my day. Thank you so much for this video! As a disabled military veteran now a home-schooling mom of two, I also suffer from anxiety. My situation is unique and not many people can relate to my struggles. I have recently stopped neglecting myself. I also too wake up before my family for a quick workout. This small change has brought so much value to my life. Having a daily routine really helps having a purpose and have something to look forward to when it doesn’t seem like there is . And it’s also good for your health stuff . Anyone will get lost without a plan and where you’re depressed or anxious , it’s hard to make plans .

Oh my gosh this means so much to me in two major ways. I started a 60-day healthy habit challenge on my blog to get into a consistent sleep and exercise routine to conquer chronic fatigue. Also, my relative was recently diagnosed with a mental disorder and it was truly miraculous that we were able to finally find out what it was. I sincerely appreciate you talking about the importance of mental health especially in your experience. Many will try to avoid dealing with tragedy but you are a light bringing truths out of the darkness and helping others. God bless you, sister friend! ❤❤❤❤❤

i greatly appreciate you talking about depression and anxiety. I have both that makes daily living difficult at best. I once had someone tell me that I was lazy because I did not keep up with the house work. Clearly a person that does not understand depression and anxiety. I also had someone once tell me that I did not look disabled! So there is a lot of people out there that just don't know about this. And you coming on RU-vid and talking about this is awesome! And I know you talked about your brother and I completely get it!! I have been suicidal before. I obviously did not do it. I did not even try. But I could see how this can happen. It is not selfish. It is a disease known as depression!! Thank you for sharing this routine with us. And that daily sheet you have, can you share that? Please. Thanks

Thank you for sharing ! I use essential oils alot! My daughter deals with a brain imbalance and she takes natural vitamins and I always know when she runs out and I am on her to not run out it is too important which helps her remain focused . She and I live together . She helps me . I have many problems with my old body and getting things done is hard because just a simple push of a piece of furniture can lay me up for days even weeks . Can't push or pull much of anything which in daily routine you need to push pull to clean . Think about how much you do that requires this. I love your smoothie idea. l have 2 bullets mixers sitting there waiting for me. I do use essential oils . I have been upset about getting things done but can't . You have given me an idea . I am going to write down the things I need help with and maybe ask some of my friends who are younger to help me move this or that and that will help my anxiety . You have inspired me! Thank you precious girl ! Give those precious babies a hug from me.

OMG!!!!!!!! cooking breakfast overnight is genius!!!!!!!!!! definitely needed this video! it's 11:45am and i JUST woke up less then a half hour ago!!!!!! husband and kids went off to work and school and all i did was yell have a great day to them when they left. i have my better days, today was not one of them. i have essential oils, but have NEVER used them! i have a himilayan salt lamp and have only turned it on once! i think i need to get my day going!!!!! thank you and have an awesome day!

Really great video, Kathryn! That berry kale mix looked so delicious!! I never would have thought of making an eggy casserole in the crock pot. What a great idea! My boys are going to love that. Thank you. It's so true when you get up earlier the day begins so much more peacefully and those pesky negative thoughts don't crowd in. I never in a million, million years would have thought that you struggle with anxiety. You are always so upbeat and joyous. Whenever I feel down I just watch one of your videos and then I feel hopeful and happy again. Your joyful enthusiasm for life is so contagious. Anxiety is no joke. I love how real you are. Getting up is hard! I struggle with both. Also in my heart I struggle because I lost my 2nd child at 5 months along and then I became terminally ill. But I’m a fighter and hope to keep getting lung transplants. Your videos have been life changing and saving! ❤️

I have been totally binge watching your channel. Love watching your organization and diy videos. I took a trip to my little DT today and picked up a bunch of bins and plastic baskets to get my kitchen and bathroom organized.

Hi!!!! OMG, I really love your videos, but this one touch my heart because I remember your brother story and the news yesterday about Kate Spade... I also struggle with anxiety and depression since I was diagnosed with Lupus and fibromyalgia about 4-5 years ago... is very hard to live with chronic pain, but positive mind, my faith in God, small changes like learning about things I love “like organization”... are changing the way I think about my illness, now I’m trying to learn some yoga to relief symptoms.... thanks for being such a beautiful and transparent human being, God bless your family... He ☝🏼made beautiful angels like you, with purpose in this world... so keep going!!! Thanks again 🙏🏼💕🙋🏻‍♀️🇵🇷

Pre-Planning is so helpful. Stress comes from over thinking everything. I am very guilty of this. I get stressed if things are not flowing right at home. I like for things to be a certain way and when they are not it bothers me. It's just the way I am. I had my grandkids spend a few days with me and I planned it all out from what we were going to do and each meal we had. I pre made dinners so I just had to heat them up. I don't have to spend so much time in the kitchen that way. I cut up fruit and snacks and had them ready. I thought of every scenario in my mind and what I would need. Example.. They play in the sandbox and I had all the sand toys ready and a chair for me to sit in next to it. The pool was pre filled the night before. Towels next to it. The less running back and forth to grab things the better. Much less stress... I just think about my day and what I'm going to need to make it flow in the right direction! Love your videos!

I love your attitude, Kathryn! Your morning suggestions are terrific! I don't have children at home anymore but I used to get up at 5:30 am to exercise and record the 6am exercise program for the next day, and shower and dress and get breakfast started before the children got up. Now that I am retired, I am in a rut of sleeping until 7am!! I am going to follow your lead and start doing my stretches at an earlier hour (and actually do them)!! Thank you!! xoxox :D

Early morning exercise is the best. I think some of my happiest times were after early morning soccer practices. Yeah, it was hard work, but I just felt so refreshed and happy after they were over.

I’m so happy you are talking about mental health. I am 13 and ones of my best friends started having sucidal thoughts because of depression and anxiety( plus we just started middle school this year) she has had help and is so happy now. The matter has been very close to my heart ever since. But I remember her coming up to me and telling me I don’t diserve to live and I shouldn’t

Thank you for sharing this. I suffer from anxiety, so if I start my day in a bad mood, or stressed out, it'll usually snowball throughout the day. I love working out in the morning, but honestly I need to do more yoga. It really is beneficial to the body and mind.

I myself suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy. I have 3 kids so they keep me distracted for most of the day but I been going on Long Beach walks and trying to relax more it’s so hard but it’s m getting there. I want to thank you so so much for all this tips I will definitely get up an hour early before the kids so I can do some things for myself before they get up 🙏🏼😁❤️ by the way I love 😍 your channel.

Thanks for this video. Ive struggled with depression and anxiety for the past 3 years after having my first kid. On top of that i lost my 19 y/o brother to suicide on 6/16/11. For some reason I've been have such a rough time when i realized he's been gone 7 years. I had a huge meltdown about it last night...time for some serious self care.
