I’ve been using Darktable years, but you’ve taught me so much in just 2 videos. Thank you!

Love how you increased the contrast in the sky, I'm going to have to try out that technique.

Thanks for the video. The audio is much better. I didn't want to complain before because I was just grateful you were making the videos on complete editing of landscape imagery with Darktable.

No problem. I've invested in a better mic and am learning the best settings in OBS to reduce noise without clipping the audio too much so hopefully the audio will keep improving!

Good demonstration, and with silence for thoughts between the talking (i.e. no beat in the background), I like that. I think that when a drawn mask is copied into another module, the parameters disappear and must be renewed, which is logical, as the circumstances probably have changed.

Another great video, I normally use Affinity Photo but have always been interested in Darktable, you are making it easy for me to understand, thankyou

I've yet to try Affinity. They seem reluctant to make it for Linux unfortunately, but the user base is growing so who knows, maybe one day!

Very nicely handled sky. I see so many images with a 'Mordor', heavy handed sky which looks very artificial and ruins the image. You had beautiful conditions and the edit is very understated and realistic. You used a couple of new things I need to re-watch and study. Thank you. Another very well produced and nicely paced video.

Thanks! I try to go by the principle that if someone who hasn't seen the raw can tell what's been done, then you've probably done too much.

Please raise your audio 10% when you edit your videos. As long as it doesn’t go higher than yellow on sensitivity. The audio volume can be adjusted in editing or by adjusting the microphone sensitivity before recording. If it sounds tinny or distorted or go into reds on peaks in waveform, it’s too loud. You want to adjust your computer volume to 50% when editing the video and the video audio should not be a strain on the ears to hear. Other than that, everything else looks good in video. - I have shared your channel on Threads so expect more viewers. Thank you for getting straight to the point and providing these easy to understand darktable editing videos for landscapes.

@@DarktableLandscapes 😀 It’s my go-to platform to recommend as the easiest to get started on when moving away from Windows. I currently use macOS for design and development purposes. I’ve used all the desktop operating systems. Welcome to Linux! 🎉 Did you use darktable on Windows?
@DarktableLandscapes
@DarktableLandscapes Месяц назад
@@daniellbrinneman I've used it on Windows and Mac along with the Adobe products, but Adobe's recent moves have pushed me completely over to DT. It also happens to demosaic Fujifilm RAFs somewhat better than ACR which is a bonus.
