This weekend I did maintenance on my 2016 E400 panoramic sunroof and my wife 2022 GLC300 sunroof. Thanks to your video I'm glad I did this especially my E400. It took me awhile to clean my E400 sunroof and the grease was pitch black not yellowish. I was surprised since the dealership had done some lubrication last year. However I was very thorough cleaning all areas and applied the Mercedes-benz lubrication paste you showed in your video. I did my wife's GLC300 and her old grease was yellowish not black like mine was. Tested both sunroof and they operate very smoothly. Thanks for your video!
Thank you so much for your comment. I’m glad you did it and the video helped. Make sure you look at my other videos they are very helpful with other maintenance items.
Thank you for the amazing video.. I’ll do this on my w222 S63 AMG… Can I say.. maybe move up the two front seats and stand in the rear footwell.. seat ventilators aren’t cheap to replace
Thank you so much for your comment. You are correct. But I also have ventilators in the back. Maybe just put something in top of the seat to protect it. Nothing happened though
Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. 100% helpful. Very much appreciated. Would you be able to share exactly which grease you are using here? Part number perhaps? Thank you again!
I got it at the at the dealer’s website. Mercedesbenzofparamus.com but it’s more expensive now. I got it for $124 now it’s $142. But look around. The part number is 001-989-46-51
Thank you for the video good sir. Do you happen to have any tips for clicking noises coming from the sunroof while its closed? I was able to pinpoint behind the drivers seat and it goes away when I open the sunroof entirely and close it back down. I just recently the car from the dealership as a CPO. Its a W222 2019 S450. Thank you!
I'm considering a 2017 S-550 or 2019 S560 in 2024. Are the engines in the S560 as reliable as the ones in the S550? Thank you for making these videos. New subscriber!
Thank you so much for your comment. They are both as reliable. If you have the two cars in front of you there are many factors to consider. They are both used. The 2017 is the last of its generation, so any flaws were already taken care of. The 2019 it’s second in its generation, if there was anything wrong with the first one, it could have been taken care of by then or maybe not. Even though with Mercedes there is not much doubt, at least for me. It really depends on what you like. I was looking into a 2018 and the 2017. And I got the 2017. Because of mileage, paint condition, looks, interior, long base. You get little more technology on the 2019 of course and a little more efficiency. No apple play on the 2017. In any case. Look at my video about getting a used car when you are ready for it.
@josecitomarin Muchas gracias!! Many thanks! Probably be about the middle of 2024 before I make my purchase. I will let you know & look at your other videos 👍🏾
Thank you Jose. There is a sunroof on the 2006 Honda crv I just bought. Used it today for the first time and boy is it dirty. Now I know what to do! But the price on that grease? That’s pretty expensive for something that I’ll only do once every 20,000 miles. Any alternative?
Thank you so much for your comment. I’m glad you like my videos and I’m glad you find them useful. The Mercedes grease is very expensive. You are right. They do sell small containers as well. But you can also use other brands as long as they are synthetic. Each can manufacture sell their own synthetic grease. So there any many choices.
