Funnily enough i was just thinking the majority of us will be hitting our 50s soon and there you are 55. Its crazy how time has flown. And its amazing the music hasnt aged
These guys used to come into the pub where I was the manager, they were a great bunch of people, well mannered and polite, use to pump their music out on the speakers much to the annoyinginess of all my locals. Great times. Gave me a copy of their first 💿 all signed by them.
This song is so positive and uplifting, and yet listening to it now, I feel a strong tinge of sadness. How optimistic and feel good expressive music of the 90's was, and what a pile of crap it all turned into after the 00's. Maybe it's just because I was a kid then but the world seemed rather more at peace back then than it is now. Or is that just me??
soundseeker63 It's not just you. The mood in the 90s was more positive, and experiences of going to parties were more special as it was all a bit new and we were not saturated by social media.
tbf it probably did feel a more peaceful time. Berlin wall had just come down, communism had collapsed and the cold war had supposedly ended. with people like trump, putin and boris running the world these days, who knows what could happen :I
A lot of the people I remember being so into partying and doing Es, ended up with severe drug habits. 'Oh a bit of Charlie and a few lines of Smack chill me out...' lots of those people are dead or in a shit position. The late 80s & up to the mid 90s wasn't so great in lots of ways
I was a kid when this came out; and now 42, it evokes good memories listening to my dad’s HardFax 2 cassette in his van. Great times growing up in the nineties.
If I could afford to, I'd buy a massive space of field where I could hold free parties on private land and recreate the happy vibe, music and positivity of the early 90's.
Would not have to be a massive space. . . A6 home of what was once Milwaulkie Nightclub (aka Castways). Then it is about creating the atmosphere and reunions, of yesteryear.
Just start with renting a piece of property, a generator, a party tent, an audio system, and some toilets, and do it with some buddies. We've held non-profit parties for buddies in a forest for over 10 years every year now. We just don't stick to one decade, we enjoy all of them.
@@davidwalsh9571 Shelleys in Stoke and eclipse in Coventry..... I even remember Tony De vit playing it in trade London that boys own mix was legendary. Sasha had four copies of it when he lived in Marylebone I still have one of his that I got for popping down the shops one morning cause everyone was wasted in his flat as my fee lol
This song transports me back to my visits to Amsterdam as a happy, energetic, ambitious young man. Not heard it for years, crazy how songs can have such a powerful affect on us
Take me back to them days 1 more time…..what a time to be alive the BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!! feel sorry for the kids today….not a mobile phone in site on the dance floor back in 89-92 just everyone loved up on E & life
The 90s and this song was the soundtrack to the 90s in terms of the optimism it bought as we closed out the 20th century. I cannot help thinking that every thing since in the 21st century is a step backwards, draconian drug laws, social media, commercialisation of the rave scene, covid, iraq, 911, Afghan and now war in Ukraine.
No matter what crap is going on in my life, I listen to this and a smile breaks out. Brings back memories that will last forever :) Many thanks Sunscreem.
I loved this track way back in 1996 :) I guess we Gen X are " the olds now" :) and the kids are discovering this music, like we discovered tacks from the 60s back then ha ha (nervous laugh). Saying "the olds" is probably outdated now and boomerish ha ha.
this song is sweet and vibey and fuck. holy goddess. thank you for making this, and all the DJs who've subsequently mixed this to make our lives better
Suncreem OMG they were the best and I loved them and I have their albums and The Shamen they need to hook up and do a major concert together and Yello. That would be so tight.
Cant get enough of this tune, with all the memories from this time, everyone was chilled out, didn't seem to judge anyone, and people didn't see colour /ethnicity...u wer just mates!makes you wonder what dystopian future awaits!take it easy people!
We've got, we've got We've got/we want We've got, we've got perfect motion We've got/we want, we want/we've got Because we've got perfect motion We've got/we want chaos Because We want/we got perfect motion We've got/we want the lot We'll knock We'll knock until the doors break open If rhythm's a drug, I'm hooked on you So show me every move We've got perfect motion You're pulling me up into the blue I'm drowning in your love We've got perfect motion Wake up -- we've got/we want chaos Wake up -- we've got perfect motion Wake up -- we've got to stop the rot Wake up -- we want evolution Some have/some not We want/we've got Because we go round or over Wake up, wake up, they've lost the plot We'll knock until the walls come crashing down If rhythm's a drug, I'm hooked on you So show me every move We've got perfect motion You're pulling me up into the blue I'm drowning in your love We've got perfect motion (Drowning in your love...) If rhythm's a drug, I'm hooked on you So show me every move We've got perfect motion You're pulling me up into the blue I'm drowning in your love We've got perfect motion
I've been looking for this song for years. Found it at last! I remember hearing it on the radio at the time. A Top of the Pops repeat finally ended my search.
I can't believe that in a country that just were released from the Iron Curtain, in the early nineties we've been flooded by German dance music so much that I had absolutely no awareness of bands like Sunscreem. A total blind spot on my musical map. I'm discovering these tunes through recent covers by contemporary producers like Orkidea or Paul Sawyer.
wonderful, i was 23 years old, was watching this wonderful Video at MTV Partyzone in 1993, in these times i had my Amiga1200 at Home, wonderful times back then, thank you Sunscreem ..
Great track. It sounds completely inspired by The Shamen. I've just discovered it on a random playlist and thought this was a Shamen track I had never heard of...
I don't believe this song! Much more than I tought at first sight! Crazy to listen the instruments, meanwhile in my mind it's an electrionc music. Unbelievable! ❤🎉
