Wow! People not familiar with the size of the L.A. area will have NO IDEA of the distances you drove to cover these locations! From Hollywood to Santa Monica, to Los Felez, to San Clemente?!? That’s a Herculean effort! Great video! Not too far from the Schwab’s pharmacy location near Chateau Marmont was the Garden of Allah, that would be an interesting historical site to cover!
Interesting video. BTW the studio with the Mack Sennett sign on Fountain Av, was the Mabel Normand Studio, a place that Gloria Swanson never set foot in. She was at the Edendale studio, Alessandro St. As you are no doubt aware, the story shadows the life of Mabel Normand, and she's mentioned twice in the film -- "Gee, Mabel Normand must have swum in that pool!" Gloria made a whole new career off the film, but Mabel's memory and reputation was destroyed by it. Mabel's last house is at 526 N. Camden Drive, BH (it only has a small pool).
Norma Place is in an area known as The Norma Triangle in the heart of West Hollywood, apparently dating from a real estate venture of the silent star Norma Talmadge (sister: Constance), so it does have some silent movie provenence!
