At least for me it seemed liked old heads trying too hard to be "young and hip" with the energy drink stuff, cringe humor, and "meta" as for the gameplay I thought it looked decent enough but nothing special, feeling like a mix of infamous and Rachet & Clank
Because this game was a xbox exclusive and every Xbox owner pretty much ignored this game since they were saving their money getting Halo MasterChief edition which came a month after this game, i believe if this game was a multiplatform it would probably make decent profit.
I actually had a blast with this game, and loved the way it poked fun at common game tropes. I remember a specific side mission where you spot a woman with a quest marker above her head, and ask what issue she needs help with. She informs you that she doesn't need help with anything, and is only testing the quest marker above her head, as she rents these things out. So basically in that world, those markers are actual, PHYSICAL things that people have floating above their heads to get your attention.
I got an Xbox One for Christmas 2014 and it came with Sunset Overdrive. I've played this game SO MUCH, and it was such a promise for what we then perceived as "next gen". The Brazilian Portuguese dub is also pure gold and enhanced the game by a wide margin.
You would need a whole new profile to replay the game otherwise you can just replay your favorite missions. Wish they would’ve added new game plus instead of
@@melvinlondon7787 you can start again! You just have to delete your previous data I agree new game + would be nice tho so we didn’t have to delete our saves
1:36 ok technically it did make back its original budget of somewhere around 42 million, but Insomniac themselves had like a zero percent cut out of the 49ish million they made back, which is why its so little
Loved the editing on this one man. I played this game when I first got my Xbox one and it was on game pass. One of the funnest games I ever played, literally couldn’t put it down
Sunset Overdrive it's my favourite open world game ever, and the only that I played until reaching 100% compeltion, all while never using fast travel as movement it's so satisfying!
Sunset Overdrive reminds me what gaming should be about. Simplicity and fun. Nowadays, games are becoming more complicated. I get adding something new, but they go overkill.
Finished Sunset Overdrive with two expansions in 70 hours (also got 72 achievements out of 80, which I try to actually complete very rarely in videogames) two weeks ago. The funniest and the most entertaining gameplay loop in many years for me. The last time I had so much hook in game mechanics were Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend Of Zelda BOTW.
Insomniac Games asked Microsoft for years to approve a sequel, even outlining all the improvements they would do plus a shorter development time thanks to being more knowledgeable with the hardware, sadly rejected each time
This is funny to me. When the Xbox One S was still fairly new i went on a trip with my parents at the rental house in Las Vegas and bought the game for $10. I could not get enough of the game.
I played Sunset Overdrive with the Xbox Gamepass a couple years ago not expecting much. Then I spent a entire week playing the game. Definitely worth a play for anyone who was interested in it or is still.
One of my top 5 games of all time if not too 3. Beautiful, irreverent and most importantly: FUN! One of the best gaming soundtracks we’ve had since Tony Hawk. My heart will break a little when they inevitably shut the servers down.
This game while not my usual taste was an absolute blast to play, it makes me so sad that its pretty much lost media at this point. The colors, the gameplay, the movement, and even the story aint half bad!
I just found your channel through recommendations and watched a bunch of videos and the you upload just 24h after i subbed. Hell yeah. Also great intro with that crying pronoun guy hahahaha After watching until the end i gotta give this game a higher priority in my backlog.
I knew this game when it came out but wasn't my vibe at the time, but now, specially since is on Steam for dirt cheap, I might give it a go in the future.
I constantly hear people talk shit about this game, especialy the spiderman fanboys but when im done breaking their legs i remind them that without sunset overdrive insomniac would have never made a spiderman game and im sad to this day we will never get a sequal or a release of the game on playstation
I dont get it, those review scores are quite appropirate. I side with the critic score as its about a 7/8 rather than a 9. Maybe if you mute the dialogue then yes that improves it significantly.
Ok i expected this to be an actual review of the game not just 9 min of praise, i mean its well diserved praise but still, you could have talked about the the story a little more than the 1 fizzie boss fight
Micro still hold publishing rights over Sunset Overdrive as such Sony Interactive Entertainment cannot do anything with it, be it a port, remaster, spinoff or sequel All they can do is a spiritual successor
@@Adrianhernandez-ex8cj Spiederwoke 2 is a trash grame, Spiderman PS4 is so gooooood. I Haven't played Sunset Overdrive in my live. I was addicted to Forza and NFS in 2014 lol.
I mean.... Was Synthetic Man really wrong about Spiderman 2? I know he has bad takes especially when referring Aztec culture as being Satanic but Spidey 2 he hit the nail on the head.
Blud💀. Playstation is literally cooking with fun and colorful games. And no little big planet is not dead, in fact sackboys big adventire came out recently. I still think there is hope for sunser overdrive 2, atleast if Insomniac whan’s to make them becouse these things are always decided by the studios themselves.
