really impactful album. one of the first free improv records i ever heard and still some of the most sensitive and timbrally imaginative stuff i know. thank you for making this
Would you happen to remember how you produced the amorphous pitch shifted tone that almost sounds like aliens talking in a cartoon on Mormon Gibbon Brisbane? It sounds a bit like a theremin but I can't say for sure.
@@azrael5493 ha, it was so long ago. I think the sounds you're talking about are old reel-to-reel tapes being dragged back and forth across the tape head. Waves Z-noise is one effect I used a lot on the whole album, and to differing degrees on the individual stems. It is usually a 'noise reduction' tool, but I had it ramped up really high so it removed most of the signal, just leaving a spectral smooth trace of the original sound. It gave the overall sound a bit of an edgeless, amorphous vibe.
Thank you for reuploading this. This was one of my all time favorite records when I first heard it circa 2018 roughly and I couldn't find it for the longest and eventually forgot. Now it's back. Thanks.
