Loved all the stitching and seeing the progress. FFOs oh yeah!!! Will miss you guys for the two weeks, I’m just now catching up on everything. COVID bug hit us big time and tonight was the first time stitching in a week. As a kid I had a snowsuit, gloves attached to sleeves and also had the clip. Great memory.

The Three Little Kittens is a classic nursery rhyme. Deb yes my Granny would make knit or crocheted mittens for us every year and they were connected by a string that went through the sleeves and across the inside back of our coats.

Love the updates and the video today. EJ - didn’t you start 324? That has over 50 colors and is a new chart from 2024. Have a safe trip and enjoy Alaska! I’m going next Sept and cannot wait to go back!

Another awesome videos. Ur projects r lovely ladies. All did a wonderful job. My Memere use to knit my mittens and at the end of knitting one she knitted a long chain so u fed ur mittens through ur jacket sleeve. Never lost my mittens. I hated my mittens with the string. I lived in the east coast and my mom was tired of me losing my mittens.

I dud gave a string on my mittens because I always lost at least one mitten. The clips didn't work very well. I admire your finishes! I love stitching with you playing in the background.

Yes, I remember my mittens were hooked on my sleeve with a metal clip like Shelia had. Have a great vacation Deb and Shelia and EJ it was so nice seeing you at NJ Retreat!

I had a string and clips-those were the days! We also used bread bags over our feet and into our boots as winter started to end and the holes we had worn into our boots became apparent as we stomped in puddles on the way home from school. Breaking the ice as we walked to school was always fun.😊

As I was listening to your description of EJ’s process for starting a project, I was in the midst of questioning & changing my choices of: how many inches of border, fabric direction & scroll rod vs Nurge hoop vs round hoop and thinking…”Hey, I resemble that remark!! “. It’s a struggle…but once I get going, oh boy!!

I try to not overdo the thinking when kitting up projects. It’s actually worked out very well and projects come together fast. I laughed how EJ was trying to explain her process.

OH, man! That framer is definitely worthy of your work. A perfect match of talents. Wish I knew if we had someone like that in the San Antonio area. And, I guess I'm not as good of a Sunshine Stitchers fan as I thought because I do not remember Shelia stitching the teacups. The keys, yes, but not the cups. EJ - your "backside" comment on the One Dozen Quakers reminded me of my military time. One of the units I was assigned to always said, "so to speak," after any statement that could be construed as a sexual innuendo. 😁Now the phrase just automatically comes out of my mouth. OH! Lazy Daisy! I'm actually learning embroidery right now. So, are cross stitch specialty stitches the same as embroidery stitches? OOOOHHHH again! French knots!! Try a Colonial Knot instead. So much easier and so pretty!!

I have tried Colonial Knots but really want to master the French Knot. Many stitches used in surface embroidery, needlepoint, and other forms of stitchery are transferable. If you know stitches used in embroidery, don't hesitate to incorporate them into your cross stitching.

Okay I started chuckling when Sheila mentioned summer montage because I had wondered where it had gone too! I’m glad it’s gonna get worked on for a little while. Also EJ your laugh is infectious. Whenever you get going I just start laughing with you and I also get Leslie’s fabric of the month (her store is actually in town here) and I also chuckled when I opened up and read “Uranus.” Love seeing all three of you! Have fun on the cruise!

Well ladies I am always so invested in what you are talking about and stitching that if I’d write a comment to address it all - I’d need a book 😂 But here are the highlights: Deb - your framed CC JANUARY….oh my word! Fantastic! EJ: your Rosewood Manor: it’s going to be stunning! And between EJ and Deb showing Rosewood Manor pieces in progress I’m thinking about pulling my Quaker Diamonds out and working on it - so THANK YOU! Shelia: Goldie is going to be stunning. I LOVE the idea of using your beads from Africa on her! What a great touch that will be. The Deer from PNPS is sweet as can be. I also have the best time sitting and watching you all as I work. I'm finding I love the chit-chat and sharing more than the stitching - in any flosstube - not that your stitching isn't beautiful and inspiring, because it is. I know what you mean. I"m expecting rain, wind, and temps in the 60's for most of it. Definitely not my cup of tea. I have a heavy bag (pray for no extra charges) with extra layers of clothes. It's worth it though.

I have watched y’all for years n I have really enjoyed it. But I have to say this cause it just keeps bugging me. When Deb is on and she is showing her wips, Shelia n EJ, y’all r totally ignoring her! This has happened on several times that she is on. Today was the worst I just had to mention it. EJ u r fooling w your fabric n Shelia, I know you’re writing but u have your back totally toward her. Deb pays full attention to y’all’s showings but I just feel like she is not given the same consideration. Do better ladies. ❤

I had no idea. Yes, I am writing down her titles, as I do with EJ. When I pay attention, I miss the title and have to ask her to repeat it. Part of it is that I saw them as she put them on the table. I will definitely do better. Thank you.

You may have a point-I don’t know as I listen rather than watch. I think these lovely people do not deserve a verbal dressing down. Perhaps a kind, thoughtful comment would have done the job without sending so much negativity toward them. Be well!🌻

I only look if it’s a pattern I am interested in or something I haven’t seen before. I enjoy the laughter, camaraderie and friendship the women share with us. Shelia is a lovely person with excellent manners. She, of course, responded courteously. My point is that you didn’t need to clobber them over the head with your thoughts. A simple, “I noticed you aren’t watching Deb’s projects as she’s sharing. Why is that?” would get your point across without being rude. Just my thoughts-I appreciate the time and energy they put into providing free content for us on a weekly basis. They are kind people, anything you are judging them for is unintentional.
