Beautiful harvest. Can you show us how you put together a simple recipe or two for fresh salsa using things from your kitchen garden. I'm sure I'm not your only viewer who would love this!
Finally an honest video mentioning the horrible mosquitoes! Only one other in MN has complained. I was beginning to think it was just us in WI. We never have them this horrendously bad! I think they are hatching in mid air. I can’t go into the garden or water without a head net, long sleeves and spray. It is the Most annoying time to be in the garden 🤯 Ahh, was wondering why you were picking tomatoes unripe. That’s another thing I’ve noticed is the wildlife pressure was not anything this bad in the severe drought. The rabbits have NEVER dug under the fence before.😡 I agree that the Sun Sugar is better than Sun Gold.
Hello Gorgeous! Your gardens are looking absolutely fabulous! I love the structure of your cherry tomatoes! Do you find that when you trim the leaves off does it attract pests,or not? This is the first year that I have started a vegetable garden with squash, pole beans, zucchini and tomatoes in years. Because of our mild winter it was such a strong struggle with bugs. I was diligent and caught every squash bug and got all the eggs off the leaves! I had a very small harvest of zucchini and yellow squash. We had over six weeks of over 90° temperatures. This week is the first week that we have had 80° temperatures. I have tomatoes all over my tomato plants that have not ripened yet! I am hoping that the cooler weather will help then ripen, so I can enjoy my tomatoes! I am in SC,zone 8. I just caught 2 rhino horned worms yesterday and Captured them immediately, no damage! Do you have any pointers to help my Garden flourish next year?
We went thru those very hot days too and NOTHING was ripen or producing, once it gets that hot the plants just want top survive, I don't think over pruning damage the tomatoes, it helps them get air flow and keeps them healthier a bit longer. I haven't seen any worms just yet but I am sure they are coming.
Thank you for sharing your harvest. Such a shame you cannot let tomatoes completely ripen on vine. Approximately how many malabar spinach plants are growing on that trellis? Mine take forever to get climbing. ❤
Yup, they really do tend to crack, that's another reason why I prefer Sunsugars, they hardly ever crack and I can pick them when they are completely ripen.
Ahhh great I finally got sungolds this year and now I'm dissatisfied hahahaha. I've tried 1 so far and it was amazing hahaha. Holy moly that's a crazy looking tomato. What's it taste like??? Omg I'm dying watching you unwrap the tomatillos ahahhahaha. I hate earwigs too yuck, I scream a lot when shaking them out of things hahahahha. My Malabar didn't do great, but straight up was so slimey. Didn't try it in soup that's a good idea. I need to start more beans. I love your harvest basket. I keep looking for one at the second and stores but haven't found one that's just right yet. Beautiful garden, knocking it out of the park this year.
Your garden is beautiful!!! I noticed that the sun gold was sweet but the skin was hard to chew!!! I don’t know if that’s normal. Where did you order your Sahara seeds from?Great video ❤
