My mother passed 35 yrs ago when I was 18. She was Jumano / Kiowas. If you believe the history books, she was extinct before she was even born in 1923. She taught me to ride horses, hunt, fish, and farm. To appreciate what the Rio Grande valley, and the world had to offer, what mother nature shared with us - both the beauty and the hard work. Most of all she taught me to have an open mind . To love and respect all peoples. Thank you for this song, is beautiful.

My Mother recently went home to Great Spirit. She would chant & sing to me when I was little. Though the language is different, the meaning is the same. When she was dying, I chanted & sang the same song for her. We Come Full Circle and Enter Into The Sacred Spiral. BEAUTIFUL... THANK YOU! 🥲🥲🥲

My grandfather is 89, he is soon to pass, I have felt it in my bones since 3 months ago, my mother has been so depressed, she does not understand that what she has been feeling is her spirit having to let go of my grandfather. She is his daughter. My mother is an only child. His blood runs through her to this day with the cries of our ancestors, it is such a beautiful experience though, because this love between my grandfather and my mother still holds so strong. ❤ I am grateful that my grandfather is my grandfather for eternity. I am grateful for Great Spirit and All He Has Done.

My mother is from Ireland, and my bio father was full Eastern Cherokee. It was Mom who made sure I learned my language and traditions, and she made sure that I was part of our community, even getting me enrolled when my bio father objected. That's not a really common thing in our history, but I'm so grateful that she kept me connected.

The tradition, clothes and mother and daughter are really beautiful:) OMG, I just thought that in my country thousands of people roam in tundra herding reindeer, and young teens of the girl's age already put up chums, make a fire, cook, sew fur coats for the family, put reindeer into a team, know how to manage them during roaming... and, of course they study all the 14 mandatory subjects at school, from native language to astronomy and higher mathematics... Heroic people, really!

I love the imagery of a mother braiding her child’s hair. It’s specific, something very much central and sacred in many Native cultures, but it’s very universal too- a lot of us have memories of our mothers fixing our hair. Someone with no knowledge of the sacred and unique aspects of hair and braids in Native culture can still be struck by the maternal symbolism in the video. ❤

So I am not native American.I have not study the culture but whenever I hear native American singing and or music or anything like that it feels awesome and I can literally feel the energy outside my body touching my skin like it's giving me a massage like a human would and makes me feel better and loved in a similar way that the pledians on a diffirent planet do. It helps me feel more at home or relaxed being in it even though I know it's fake. I don't feel truly connected to it almost 24 7 and the flowers here are some of the flowers I see in my visions.

My wife is Cree, but when her mom died when she was 14 she became estranged from that side of her family. I wish I knew how to help reconnect her to her roots. Especially on Mother’s Day it feels that disconnect is really hard on her.

One of the women that helped me get through and to learn to stand on my own, is my Native mom. We aren't related but she stepped up and took me in as a teenager. Taught me her culture and so much more. She brought out the best of me even for a little while. She visited me today. She traveled so far to come see my grandmother and I after my grandfather passed away in this January.💖 I love my moms, my birth mother, my grandma, and my Navajo mom. 💖
