Nourhan Refaat is the first Egyptian woman in history who participated in the ISA SUP World Championship in Puerto Rico. Women can be in leadership positions, change history, and change their narrative. Nour started reflecting on the ideas of empowerment and participation that drove her. She realized that SUP could bring meaningful, inclusive community engagement critical to women's well-being. And this is the birth of Nour's dreams of creating a non-profit Paddleboard club in Egypt that ensures that women have access to equipment and instruction to enable them to participate safely and fully in the sport of SUP.
She is very thankful for the Northern California community who took the risk and jumped with her onto the vast mountain to change the impossible dream to an awesome reality. They believed that one woman could lead the whole country and change history.
