I have become quite a fan of your S6 and Super Gem Videos. On the fence now re: S6 or Gemini ($$$$). Cant wait to explore UDO & MPE with my Seaboard or the Osmose-- which just arrived. I still use the Seaboard more than the Osmose. While the Osmose is much easier to play, the Roli has the edge for overall expressivity IMO. Thanks Hazel!
Can’t get a bad sound out of either one! Though you haven’t asked for MY opinion, I just thought I’d share, regardless. 😂 If you’d like to perform very layered and complex pieces and/or have money to blow, totally go with the Gemini! However, I believe you can accomplish much of the same sounds on the Supe’s 6 with 12-voice polyphony, or 6-voice binaural and will be able to create similar recordings, as such. But real-time capabilities are greatly expanded with Gemmy. This is my understanding of it, anyway. If I am doing a poor job of identifying and addressing the strengths of either synth vs the other AND both, by all means, someone reading this in the position to “wreck my life,” please do. I shall mentally prepare myself for the onslaught of self-loathing, following my public shaming. 😅
This whole MPE-thing is ambarassing. I mean the only new (kinda) available superb controller nowadays is the new roli seaboard rise, right? I am a lucky owner of the seaboard blocks thing. I realy love the controlls with my seaboard block keyboard and multiple lightpads block M‘s on different soft- and hardware targets. Unfortunately, these kinda affordable controllers doesn’t exist anymore. To all MPE developers like Roli, Sensel and super niche companies: Try to sell us realy good controllers in symbiosis with good hard and/or software, othherwise the whole MPE thing is just a joke. As a hardcore user of this technology in genres like cinematic soundesign, techno and overall electronic music, i would appreciate the development in new hardware and software. To own a UDO would be nice, but to own some really good MPE hardware, to controll the UDO for an affordable price, would be even nicer. Besides that, the UDO Super 6 is one of the best and easy to use synths i ever played. And i love all the MPE possibilities. Thank you very much, for keeping the UDO super 6 on the cutting edge.
