Founded in 2018 by synth designer George Hearn, UDO is an electronic musical instrument company based in Bristol, UK. Our ethos at UDO is to create products that use cutting-edge technology balanced with intuitive design, making instruments that are both powerful and enjoyable. Our first synthesizer, the Super 6, encapsulates this idea of 'the power of play' - pairing comprehensive synthesis possibilities with an immediate, robust and tactile layout. The Super 6 is just the start for UDO, with plans for a range of products over the coming years.
After you have recorded your midi track, don’t forget to enable local ON button if you want to modulate and record your official audio track ;) Thank’s Hazel for this beautiful tuto.
Unfortunately, LFO1 with Reset mode modulating the VCF on my Super 6 doesn't sound at all like the one demoed here by Hazel. I don't hear any difference to the Free mode besides both having different phases. Anyone else getting the same results?
Funny enough, I'm able to get this behavior by toggling to Free mode, triangle wave and then rotate all the way to the Sawtooth shape. I guess the latest firmware has a bug :/
Just press and hold the patch button you want to save (1-8) If you want to save for example in bank B and your patch are presently on bank A-5, just press bank B button before press and hold patch 1-8. Sorry for my english, do my best
Every time I think about what I paid for this I get buyer's remorse. It's the most that I ever spent on a synth. That all goes away within 2 minutes after I turn it on. George was exactly right about getting lost in this thing. It's an amazing sound machine!
Awesome little performance! And what a brilliant instrument created by an even more brilliant man! If any of you are on the fence about getting the Super Gemini, don't hesitate. It's been months since I picked up mine and I'm still beyond enthralled.
seems the sound is more frontal, less ethereal than super 6. So the (poor) arpeggiator is more proeminent. But the good thing is the keyboard and always a good interface.
A very nice little demonstration. I was enchanted by this device from the very beginning, and here you can hear quite well why, besides the fact how important pitch-playing can be (not only) with synthesizers. Great music device, and I really hope that time will give it the role it deserves. As soon as I have one, I'll be pushing that too.
Awesome performance George !!! The Super Gemini is like being at the helm of a sonic exploration craft and that sonic universe is spread out ahead for one to explore. One of the best synths in decades for sure ! The sound and flexibility is 100% there.
I hate the Super 8. Their only justification for its existence is that it is more portable than the Super Gemini, like huh? Look at all that blank space saying "look at all this space we can fill up with stuff for the Super 10."
I’m trying to understand the value proposition of what’s different exactly. Super 6 has a total of 12 voices, Super 8 has 16 voices and the cost difference is $2700 vs $4000? Is the architecture completely different? More oscillators and modulating options?
Love watching you play the Gemini I just got mine this week having great fun finding my way around it. What a fantastic synth its a dream come true for me and I'm very proud to own one. I now live in Brisbane Australia but the Gemini is from my home town of Bristol which makes it very special.
will there be a desktop version of the Super 8? Im about to purchase the super 6 but if the super 8 comes in a desktop version I would rather wait for that. Thanks
