Fast Tutorial w/ Tools + REMOVAL + REASSEMBLY
Super 73 DIY - S2 + R series
HOW TO: REMOVE Back TIRE & TUBE + INSTALL w/ Tuffy Liner Install
Here is a quick video that can help show how simple it is to replace the rear tube should slime or liners not help the next time your Fat Tire, gets a flat. 3" Screw went through my back tire. Slime wasn't enough! 30, relaxed minutes is all you need to complete this job (w/ the right tools)
Note: this is meant to be a QUICK tutorial. Please take your time and if your not comfortable, call a fellow super73’er or head to your LBS (Local Bike Shop). Some steps such as placing the bike upside down and turning your controller around first, are not mentioned here. But can be seen on my DIY seat change video

Thanks. Just used your video to change my first rear flat after only 90 miles. I put together a tool kit and spare tubes so I can do this on the side of the road now. I also added some Mr. Tuffy liners.

Glad it helped. I've had 2 flats in about 1,000 mi now. 1 happened with a Tire liner and 1 flat was avoided by the liner. I'm happy with those results :)

Your bike is cleaner than a brand new one! I actually did a better job than super 73. After i changed my rear tire, the boltheads for the disc rotor dont even touch the motor wire anymore 👍

Wow, that screw went through the Tuffy liner? My back wheel is unbalanced from my liner so I'll have to take it off and reseat it again.
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 4 года назад
yeah, Keeping the liner in place is tough, I was really considering using some caulk or 2-sided tape to keep it exactly centered. On the next tube (cause it's bound to happen!) I'll probably try that.

The struggle is real right now. How did you get that back tire to just fit back into the frame? Mine looks like it's too wide, and every time I try to squeeze it in, it spins.

Any idea on why my tire won’t spin freely after fighting axle nuts?? Thank you!
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 3 года назад
Did you ever get an answer? The rear wheel should only spin freely (no resistance) when going counter-clockwise. If you spin the wheel as if you were going backwards there will be some resistance.

Hi, thanks for the video. Does turning the S2 upside down have any negative effects on the breaks? Does it mess up the break fluids in the hydronic breaks?
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 4 года назад
A properly bled brake system can be flipped upside down, but if it’s not perfect you get issues. 1) Air bubbles in the lines/caliper. Most bike have a fluid reservoir at the lever where air bubbles tend to migrate, while in the reservoir they are harmless. Flipping the bike upside down and pulling the lever (even a tiny amount), can let those move into the lines/caliper. 2) Pulling the lever without a rotor or spacer in the caliper. This causes the pistons to over-extend, and not be centered properly. If the pistons extend too far they can actually leak fluid, leading to major braking issues. If there's fluid on caliper, its probably this issue. This means there isn’t a 100% yes/no to your question. It can happen and I also recommend, not flipping he bike over until ready to perform the work 👍 The fix: Bleed the brakes.

Where can I find the inner tubes if not on there website.

Would a 3xl tuffy work? I see you are putting on the 4xl.
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 2 года назад
Might be too late, but yes. I just looked up the specs and it may actually fit a little better just less side wall coverage but the primary puncture areas would be covered.

would that same liner work on an s1?
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 3 года назад
The liners come in various sizes. I’d checkout the large and xL But yes liners can be used the same on the s1

I’ve a big problem, there are no 20 x 4.5/5.0 inner tubes super 73 only sells 20 x 4.0 tubes are they also working or which tubes would you recommend
@LifeAsDane
@LifeAsDane 4 года назад
Check the S73 website again. They do carry the 20" x 4.5-5" tubes. Maybe you just overlooked it. They added them about 2months ago. Just looked and they are in stock.

Many bike components are hard to find in the U.S.A. right now. Especially for the super73. Check these distibutors for Vee tires veetireco.com/distributors/
