Fuck, I love fighting game story modes. The weird stilted voice of the narrator, the trio working together to throw Kazuya off the cliff, the sheer madness of people forgetting Jin literally turned into a monster and blaming Heiachi because Jin shot down one of his satellites, the weird third person shooter bit... Special mention goes to Mat somehow thinking the Narrator, a young white man in a suburban household, is Heihachi.
I don't know what it is about 75% fighting game storylines that end up being either convoluted and/or garbage. Street Fighter: Pretty standard, aside from the fact it took over a decade for the series to move forward because every game after Street Fighter 3 kept going to the past. At least until SF6 was announced. Tekken: Probably the best of the mainstream ones RIGHT UP UNTIL 7, where shit flew out the window with the worst narration in the universe and people straight up forgetting plot points as it goes along. Mortal Kombat: Got *real* bloated until MK9 did a hard reset, was good in MK10 until MK11 did ANOTHER RETCON, into A FURTHER HARD RETCON at the end of the Aftermath DLC. Injustice: Just pretend everything to do with Wonder Woman never existed and you have a decent story. M v C I: N o . Soul Calibur: Shit the bed with 5, had to make SC6 to say "Actually fuck the last game, this is the real one." Guilty Gear: There's a reason Woolie had to do a multi-part lore series on these games, they're fucking *dense* with info. Probably a 6/10 story. BlazBlue: Who gives a fuck. GranBlue: Who gives a fuck: Second Impact. Skullgirls: Short and sweet, pretty good. Virtua Fighter: No idea.
Ah f*ck, I know nobody will ever read this, but the reason Jin causes a world war is because all the fighting and killing would awaken Azazel BEFORE the schedule he was to wake. If we awaken HIM BEFORE he has a chance to go 100% then we have bigger chances With all that said...who cares this story mode is an abortion of writting, it really really bad
