Fabulous bloom this year. Thanks for the great ride a long today. Rt66 brings back lots of pleasant memories from the early 1950’s. I honed my driving skills on this road. Safe travels home, Russ.

Why is it that with so many you tube channels to watch , yours is the only one that I watch. I swear you could make a video of an outhouse, that I would watch more than once . I enjoyed riding along with you and seeing the mountains and flowers. I grew up at the east end of Route 66. My grandparents enjoyed traveling out west and seeing the sites, back in the 50's. That's when you stayed in a Tourist Cabin for the nights. Happy trails.

I just did a Google search and it appears that the blooms near Oatman are the Mexican Golden Poppy. I thought they were all California poppies, just a different color. Walker Canyon in Lake Elsinore, CA has a super bloom of California poppies this year. It's also spectacular to see, and I've seen them several times this year as I drive the 15 Freeway going to San Diego. Your drone shots would indeed make good postcard photos, or a large photo on the wall.

Oh man that looks so pretty and you are way up there. It’s amazing how the colours just pop out there in the desert. Thanks for a wonderful trip on Route 66, those shots were incredible. Can you imagine some of those switchbacks at night? I never thought the desert was that beautiful and colourful. Cheers!!!

Hello Ross, Want to thank you for the beautiful vid. of Route 66 to Oatman and showing the desert poppies,you made my day! My first thing of the day starts with a cup of coffee and watch your new RVer TV video!!! Thank you so much for sharing the beauty of Arizona with us. Live in wet and cold Washington State, my wife past away a few month ago, so I decided to move to Arizona in October and plan to go to Quartzite area. Hope to see you there, so I can thank you in person. and thank you for the time and effort you put in making these videos. Thanks again and keep up the good work!!!! P.S. The video was not to long.

Thanks the the memories! We spent 3 winters at Golden Shores RV Park and drove that road through Oatman more times then I could count. Used to stop at the Olive Oatman Hotel and eat their Indian Taco's, some of the best I ever ate are served there. Sure brought back the memories of that road trip though. Sadly we couldn't make the trip this winter, and had to stay in South Dakota with the snow and sub zero temps. Thoughts of Arizona stayed with me and kept my soul warm even as everything outdoors around me froze solid. In South Dakota today, it's in the mid 50's and has been raining most of the night, and still is as I type. Yesterday it got up in the mid 70's for the first time this spring.

How neat! I think this my be our new favorite video of yours. What a beautiful drive. Watched it on a 50 inch TV so the curves were like riding shot gun. Haha! We were there & drove around Kingman before. Did 66 & rode along 40.. Mcglaughlin... So good to see that scenery again, Happily tied down with Woobie's as you know. haha! Always a pleasure to live vicariously through you. Thanks for sharing Really enjoyed that.

Them donkeys are so cool I was there years ago and they used to sell carrots by the bunch to feed them I don't think they do that anymore I think they got some kind of feed Square bars is supposed to be good for them LOL thanks again it was a wonderful ride

In California one of my favorite drives is north coast hwy 1. I've recently rediscovered hwy 49 Nevada City to Yuba Pass. I grew up in Reno. It's nice to see the desert.

Eschscholzia californica...California poppy. The Mexican poppy is a sub species. Grown a few thousand over the years. Bright and cheerful and real easy to grow. Cool video Russ.

Russ, thank you so very much for this video trip. Route 66 was not like the perspective I had. It is so much better. Love all the flowers there in the mountains. Who would have thought that after the snow the flowers would show up that soon? When you mentioned the 'blooms in the desert' that statement sounded so prophetic.

I can't believe how green my desert is! I've never seen the Sacramento Wash that green before! Oh, I'm just sick to miss it this year with my van being in the shop. That was Thimble Mountain that you showed at the beginning with the drone. Those flowers are magnificent! I wonder if that is how Golden Valley got it's name. Thank you for all the beautiful views!

This is just superb Russ. I took many friends visiting me out west up through Oatman. The Oatman Hotel is haunted so they say by "Oatie". Also, you can see in the register where Clark Gable signed for he and Carole Lombard to stay there on their wedding night. They married in Vegas and took the old road back to avoid photographers. It worked. J
