It’s honestly so unreal how this man, in THIS video, threw himself onto a grenade and tanked the explosion. Anybody that sees this man in public would have no idea they’re looking at a man who threw himself onto a grenade, that’s how good he looks!

For those of you who don’t know, the gentleman with the scarred face is US Marine Medal of Honor recipient William Kyle Carpenter. He jumped on a grenade to save a fellow marine during a taliban attack. when he was on the evac chopper he flatlined three times and three times they brought him back. He was in countless surgeries and spent years in the hospital but made a full recovery. An outstanding human and an outstanding marine. Semper fi

@cmconley33
@cmconley33 Год назад
Yeah. The Medal of Honor is given for actions that are so brave and selfless that the medal is usually presented to the next of kin. So if you ever see a Ukrainian soldier wearing, or a Ukrainian family being presented with a simple Gold star on a blue and yellow ribbon-thats the same as our Medal of Honor, and signifies a Hero of Ukraine. Its remarkably simple compared to its American equivalent, but no less special.
@cmconley33
@cmconley33 Год назад
On the other hand, Russians hand their version out like candy. Shoigu has one, despite never having seen combat (actually, he has no military experience, he was the director of the Russian Emergency Services, and got promoted to Defense Minister based on his friendship with Putin). Prigozhin has one, also never having seen combat. Gerasimov has two-also never having seen combat. Occasionally, one gets bestowed upon a soldier who has actually fought-but such awards are usually handed out to officers for “bravely” ordering their men to their death. The Russians were a bit more honest about it during WW2 in that a soldier generally had to see combat-although that didn’t apply to Stalin (he had 5-one presumably belonged to his son), and their highest-ranking general officer had 3 even though he didn’t fight, but did direct successful counterattacks.

Many years ago I attended a farm association convention. They were voting new officers in and ceremonially parading the old officers out. Each out-going officer came up to the podium and gave a speech then left the stage and walked down the aisle to the back door. We weren't expecting one out-going officer to show up because his father, a double war veteran in the Army and had passed away that very morning from his war injuries. He was the oldest son and the family had no mother. He had been at the hospital for a month only going home to check on his brothers and sisters that a friend of the family was taking care of. After getting his brothers and sisters ready and taking them to school that morning he made his way to the convention center. We were all shocked when he walked down the aisle to the stage. He was just in time to give his final speech. His last name was Pizarro and his father was a Cuban immigrant who became a citizen after serving in the Korean War. He started reading The Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash. It was highly emotional to say the least. When he finished the convention center erupted in applause and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. He walked down the aisle out the door to a standing ovation that lasted over 10 minutes. I have never forgotten this event and it happened over 40 years ago.

@Mike Hunt It wasn't a hit and run genius. When you hit someone and stop, that's definitionally not running. The only bad thing you can say is he didn't offer help and or give his name. He was CHARGED with H&R but those charges were dropped, the "victim" didn't sustain any serious injury, merely a couple scraps and bruises. Carpenter was held to account for the action and paid a fine. Maybe don't sensationalize your statements and give facts next time?

American isn’t a nationality, it’s a philosophy: freedom, tolerance, fairness, bravery, justice, love, friendship, brotherhood. If you ask us, as long as you believe in those ideals. You’re an American. But that’s very true. American soldiers don’t just fight for America. They are on standby to protect the people of the world at a second’s notice. It’s what sets America and her allies military’s apart for others, that those great countries (Norway, Poland, Britain, America, Australia, Canada are a few examples) are willing to fight, anytime and anywhere against tyrants and dictators.

In a small town nestled between rolling hills and vast fields, there stood a weathered flagpole in the town square. At its peak, fluttered a ragged old flag, its stripes faded, its stars worn. But to the townsfolk, it was more than just a piece of cloth; it was a symbol of their history, their struggles, and their triumphs. The flag had seen it all-wars fought on foreign soil, civil unrest, and moments of unity. It had flown proudly through storms and stood tall in times of peace. And like the town it represented, it bore the scars of time, yet remained resilient. One summer day, a young boy named Sam stood gazing at the flag, mesmerized by its tattered beauty. His grandfather, Old Joe, noticed him and approached with a smile. "Ya know, Sam," Old Joe began, his voice weathered like the flag itself, "that flag holds more stories than you can imagine." Sam looked up at his grandfather with curious eyes. "Really, Grandpa? Like what?" Old Joe chuckled softly, settling onto a nearby bench. "Well, let me tell ya one. It was back in '45, end of the war. The whole town gathered 'round this flagpole just like today. We were weary, but hopeful. And when that flag went up, it was like a beacon of freedom, a reminder of what we fought for." As Old Joe recounted tales of the flag's past, Sam listened intently, his imagination painting vivid pictures of days long gone. He heard stories of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience-stories that made the old flag seem more alive than ever. But amidst the tales of glory, Old Joe's voice softened as he spoke of darker times-the struggles for equality, the battles for justice. "That flag," he said, his eyes reflecting both pain and pride, "it ain't just about the good times, Sam. It's about standin' tall even when things ain't right. It's about fightin' for what's fair and just, no matter the cost." Sam nodded solemnly, his young mind grappling with the weight of history. He realized that the flag was more than just a symbol-it was a reminder of the challenges overcome and the work still to be done. As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and gold, Sam stood beside Old Joe, their hands resting on the worn wooden bench. Together, they watched as the ragged old flag continued to dance in the breeze, its frayed edges telling a story of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of a small town and its people.

Most military members earn the “MOH”, posthumously. It is extremely rare and unusual to receive such a prestigious award while alive. I pray that this Marine uses his skills and education to further advance his life and well-being. If I am correct, this Marine has set educational goals and is currently attending university to become a better person and further educate himself. Appears to be on the right track after getting out of the US Marine Corps, doing something constructive with his life.
