I would love that but I think the NFL makes you prerecord the half time show and Chris only performs live. I read Imagine Dragons turned the half time performance down for that reason. I heard Chris say in an interview he never uses tracks, he believes people pay to see live performances.

That didn't sound anything like the National Anthem other than the words. It was entirely different sound, tempo, and melody. Everything was different. These people need to realize it's not a concert. This is not the song for "artistic interpretation."

This was one of the most beautiful National Anthem I ever heard. I could tell he put emotion into the song. It's not my country's National Anthem but when I saw a man tearing up, I teared up too. Chris Stapleton has a much greater range than what you saw here. But this wasn't a stop on the "All-American Road Show", he was performing the national anthem.

As a Canadian, I felt the same. Normally I wouldn’t like it that slow, but Chris’ version was so beautiful, heart stopping , gritty and gave me goosebumps. He knocked it out of the stadium!

The wife and I took a two week trip to the Gold Coast several years ago and spent all of 2 days of it at the beach...the rest was spent with some bogans we met who took us to the races at Willowbank. It was the best vacation we ever had before or since and as a Kentucky farm boy who's been a few places (Oorah!) I've never felt so welcome so far away. A couple of years later that same couple came here and we returned the favor. Australia is a 10 out of 10.

I love how unabashedly American the Super Bowl is: military color guards, a shot of an aircraft carrier, a country musician with a smokey voice singing the star spangled banner playing the electric guitar, fighter jets streaming overhead, and, of course, american football itself is incredibly American. I love it, and I'm Canadian, by the way.
