First there was the frappé, the iced Nescafé born in Thessaloniki that revolutionized Greek coffee culture. Then came the freddo, iced Italian espresso, which surpassed even the frappé in popularity. I went to Thermaikos, the most historic and hippest café-bar in Thessaloniki, to ask the owner, Natasa, and top barista, Athanasia, to share the secrets of making these iconic drinks.
