Author of two bestselling travel memoirs, Karen McCann is an American writer who moved to Seville, Spain in 2004 "for a year" and has been living there ever since. Her travel tips and adventure stories have appeared in Huffington Post, International Living Magazine, New York Daily News, Los Angeles Times, and Lonely Planet. She's visited more than 60 countries including developing and post-war nations where she and her husband volunteered as consultants to struggling microenterprises.
"Living abroad," she says, "is the best opportunity to reinvent yourself outside of the witness protection program. You get to hit the reset button on your life."
"McCann's writing is warm, inviting, immediately charming, and constantly entertaining. Her narrative was so good I found myself wanting to hear more about Cleveland! Now THAT's good travel writing!" wrote Chris Brady, New York Times bestselling author.
Yes you can do this! We had to stop traveling. Just too old. I got it down to [and I know people hate this!]: A worn set of clothes. A complete set of extra clothes. Meds. Tooth Brush. iPhone & Charger. A bar of Ivory Soap. My wallet [in my front pocket with a sock stuffed in over it, pickpockets]. A beer bottle opener on my keys. My Passport. And an 8 ounce ripstop backpack! You can buy toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap at the green cross shops everywhere! Lately on our local trips I use a shopping bag!
Mlinci is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten!! My father-in-law made it with pork roast instead of chicken but whatever meat is used, mlinci is definitely the star of the show! Mmmmm
I’m doing a 36 hour round air trip with 1 overnight from Mpls to NYC in 2 weeks. I won’t be able to check into my Airbnb until after the event I’m attending and there are no bags allowed at the event. If m wearing my comfy black stretch pants that look dressy but feel like PJ’s, a long sleeve shirt that looks dressy but is cotton and comfy. Will sleep in that as well. Wearing a long thin winter trench jacket, has 2 inside pockets which will fit a clean pair of underwear, clean leggings and non- bulky long sleeve t-shirt for the next day. In my outer pockets will be mini zip bag that is just big enough to hold ID, debit card, eyeliner, chapstick and my other pocket will be my fold up tooth brush, mini folding hairbrush, iphone and charger. The Airbnb has shampoo, soap, towel, conditioner and lotion. I’m excited to not lug a bag.
I am very drawn to this! I live in the USA and recently traveled to Sweden and Norway for 2 weeks. My bag ended up in Helsinki and I didn't get it back until I returned home. Next time, if there is a next time, I will not be taking a bag!
That's fucking crazy, you guys using all the fucking ottoman lingo to explain green coffee ☕. There is no fucking greek coffee in the world Greeks even know that. Don't fuck with ppls mind.
