We spent about 45 minutes trying to find a suitable place to land the Super Cub. They are amazing little planes and an accentual part of air travel in the wilds of Alaska.
"I come to the garden alone" ... And he walks with me and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known. Good to hear the words of this old hymn bring sung as he goes about his business. Awesome skill. Encouraging testimony!
GOT ROCKS ? ... YEP ! Love this,... This IS what I wanted to do with my life when I learned to fly ( '78 )........I was STUCK in L.A. forever... I still fly & dream of being a BUSH PILOT.
Hi Robert, I flew for a living until the attacks on 9-11, but never quite made it to bush flying in Alaska. It was always something I wanted to do as well. What can you say.
yeh... having a darn good job with the City of L.A. & Sgt. Friday in the formative years I found it hard to break away, Flew for fun 'til 2018 when I went to Oshkosh and realized Part 103 was my calling.. I build Legal Eagle frames for fun now...... everybody has a life path.... mine is now custom welded steel tubes ............ so be it.
Robert Lafnear understood, but the itch doesn’t go away. Videos like this one only make it worse as I’m getting a bit long in the tooth. Almost got into crop dusting down in South Georgia, but this redhead seduced me away from it. Redhead’s long gone, but I hauled a lot of freight in a variety of airplanes while I had the chance. Enjoy 103.
I think this is the guy I flew in with sheep hunting in 1987. Air taxi service out of Glenallen? Can't remember the families name they had several pilots. Good pilot, we went through a bush landing on this gravel bank. I will check my pictures for the N number.
Es una pasada, volar en super Cub tiene que ser la ostia, en España desgraciadamente no hay cultura aeronáutica, una pena, y volar en aeroclub super carísimo..
I understand the "bush" part but never understood why they call this bush piloting.. This is expert level flying and still even at expert level your one big rock away from being stuck out in the middle of nowhere thats if you survive the crash.
$4,000 and 20 hours flying time to get a flying licence, according to a local. My son had to do 120 hours driving time to drive a bloody Toyota in Australia. lol. Ya gotta love Alaska.
LOL and in Germany you need about 30 hrs driving time until the driver‘s exam. But a plane is very nice. I like the Piper Cub planes. Kinda adorable with these big wheels.
If you don’t mind, can you contact me on Facebook messenger? I’d like to ask you a couple questions about accessing some of those bowls etc around there if you aren’t planning on returning. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100040843309972
A taildragger can also do a nose over due to hit a deep bump or full braking. One of the main reasons why the Germans lost many Messerschmitt BF 109‘s through landing on rough terrain with a narrow front wheels. Often break and do nose overs. There‘s the advantage of the tricycle gear. A lot less prone to nose over unless the nose wheel breaks, so they are not good for landing on rough terrain.
OU SERÁ QUE FUMOU MUITA ERVA MOFADA????JUSTIFICÁVEL E HERÓICO SE FOR PARA RECOLHER UM ACIDENTADO, PICADO DE COBRA, PERDIDO. MAS, APENAS PARA FAZER GRAÇA, NÃO TEM GRAÇA NENHUMA.
