Since trying most of the GA planes in X-Plane 12 the Super Cub has become one of my favorites. With no autopilot, GPS, or fancy electronics you have to fly it all the time. It reminds me of the days back in the 70's when I did a fair amount of flying by compass, VOR and looking for landmarks. I still need to work on my landings. Great fun.
Agreed! Getting back into flight Sim after 20 years and the first thing I did was jump in the F4. Whoops! The cub is so much fun for getting back to basics.
Piper cub is my favorite aircraft. I 3D modeled and flown many of them in my RC world as well, and even had a couple of flights in real life. it's an honest airplane designed and built the way an airplane should be with just what it needs to fly and nothing more. the super cub is a souped-up version of it. But maintains its docile characteristics. Thank you for the tutorial Jan.
Thank you for this video, and excellent instructions, being an old man I need all the help I can get. Love this Piper and hope I can master it, so I can take off, fly, and land anywhere with it. :) Happy landings to you Sir!!!
Have there been taildragger ground handling improvements (well I guess just general aerodynamic tweaks) in the last couple updates? I had played with them at initial release and found them to still feel not quite right to reality where some of the left turning tendencies seemed a bit more out of proportion than I expected. (Disclaimer, all my recent TW hours have been in much smaller short-coupled and highly responsive birds, so maybe I'm skewed. Will say the Extra 330 seems to handle fairly close to what I'd expect....)
I agree, they were more than a handful in previous versions, now they are very managable but still need skill - nicely balanced as far as I can tell ;-)
A nice video once again. I like the cub. One question is still left for me, how do the FPS change from XP11 to XP12. The graphics are much better but I dont know if my PC can handle it... :(
Just crashed 4 times before understand the problem.. it was me !!. tks for this nice video.. (By the way is there a hand GPS to add to "gpsless" planes ?)
🇺🇸 Do you think about one day releasing it for other platforms like Playstation 5? Because that would be really cool, it would open a lot more doors, a lot more people could experience this simulator, and even maybe VR mode with PS VR2. The PS5 is fully capable of running this simulator, and if you release it there a lot of people including me will buy it for sure! This is the best flight simulator I know and I'm dying to play it but unfortunately I don't have a PC yet. So please this simulator would be perfect on PS5, release it there too 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 🇧🇷 Vocês pensam em um dia lançá-lo para outras plataformas como Playstation 5?
There are several different engine (and other) failures, you can either trigger them manually, random or dependent on some third condition (speed, altitude,...)
