I also started this project the other day! I started at the bust part and chained the same amount as you (I have the same bust measurements). I finished the bust and it’s like it shrinked???? It doesn’t come close to fitting around my bust even though I measured the chain correctly !!! Do you have any tips or ideas on how to fit this 😭😭😭
Very late reply but incase anyone else is wondering, the length of the chain will vary depending on how thick the wool is and the size of your hook. Also, if you use a smaller hook the chain will be less stretchy than if you were to use a bigger hook
beautiful tutorial!!!! tysm :) if i wanted my sleeves to flare at the ends but get fitted as i go up, how would i go about decreasing? i chained 57 as well for my wrists if that helps. thank you SO much in advance
thank you, if you want to decrease I recommend decreasing on the sides so at the end or beginning of each row skip a stitch. there are the ways of decreasing like going into one stitch then into the next stitch and then Finnish the stitch (I don't know how to explain this but it basically eliminates a stitch)
Can you provide this tutorial from beginning to end with a bit more detail, like yarn size, thread type for sewing pieces together, and how to size it? It would be nice to see how the 'over-the-shoulder' works?
I just tried my tube thin on and just marked off the spaces where I wanted the shoulder panel and then made the amount of rows I needed. if to you are making a smaller size you can do less rows and vice versa. No I didn't increase the shoulder bit Xx
if i’m doing one colour for the sleeves, can i just crochet the length of both sleeves instead of doing 2 and sewing them together? how many rows would that be?
I don’t have any measurements to help you, but the easiest way would be to crochet in round after you’ve done the top adding rows. And increase or decrease stitches as you need to do that the round will fit your body.
hello, the project is very cute and I tried to perform it following your instructions (obviously with my measurements) but when I then finished and wore it under the armpits and behind the neck was very tight, almost sharp, I did something wrong?
hey girl :) I did the same amount of rows chains etc for both arms but one is always shrinking to almost half the length and I don't really know what I am doing wrong? I redid the second arm 3 times now and I am always trying to not fasten the stitches too much but I don't know :(
If I wanted to do the shoulder/back pieces in normal double crochet without missing one so there's holes, would I keep the same amount of rows or do more?
How would I alter this project and make it longer? I wanted to make the front parts longer, so how would i gradually increase the stitches to fit my body?
You can unsew ( I don’t even know if that’s a word) the shoulder panels and add more rows to make it longer. If you had already sewed the bust piece and shoulder piece together, you would obviously need to unsew that too in order to make more rows on the shoulder panels
Yes it’s a 3mn hook. I don’t really know the thickness of the yarn- the weight is dk light worsted and you’re meant to use a 4mm hook but I like to use a 3mm hook because I like the tension of my stitches to be nice and tight :)
