I made this in reds for my parents King size, and figured out that if you double every amount (of fabric and blocks) you can do a 4x4 star, with enough left over for two star pillow cases to match.

The more I watch Donna, the more she instills in me that none of the quilts she shows on RU-vid are difficult. She has such an amazing way about her. (I'd bet she'd would have been a GREAT elementary school teacher, but I'm glad she found quilting as her life's work.....instead. Donna, you are absolutely amazing. Thanks for all you do.

Being a Swedish family, yellow, blue and white are our national colors. This quilt is my all time favorite. I love everything about it. I made this quilt in browns and rusts on white. Looks terrific and gets a lot of comments. Went together quite quick and easily. Its a wonders pattern for a newbie quilter like me. I love this quilt. One of my 1st quilts I made was a cathedral window. It wasn’t hard to do but it was very time consuming with all the cathedral windows I had.

I never thought. I grew up watching my grandmother and my Mom sewing. My grandmother had a huge quilting frame in the sewing barn (that is what I called it). It was all done by hand at that time. Mom started some time later after Grandmother passed, doing it on a sewing machine, of course I was always in her way. But after watching all the years of this going on, I never had the passion to even try this! But its been a lot of years from that time to now. I kinda want to give it a go! Ive had some bad luck ( can't walk much) I will not go into, I need to do something productive. Yes I know in a 55 year old man, but darn it, you have inspired me! Thank you!

O.M.G.!!! Totally mesmerized...and she makes them like it's a walk in the park. Wish I have the fully computerized long arm thing though because I can imagine fighting to push the bulk through our domestic quilting machine. But, it's definitely worthwhile attempting this project. Thank you Donna.

I don't even love blue but it was perfect in you new quilt. My first thought , when I saw it, was wow. It's lovely........but way out of my league. I watched anyway. You are truly an artist. Love watching you sew, cut, iron, and all of the things you show us how to do. Now something that has been on my mind for some time. I hope e everyone is trying to recycle at least one thing. Paper, plastic, aluminum cans. Even thread and thin pieces of material can go in an onion bag made of net to go outside for the birds and squirrels to build nest out of. Linton from the dryer is really good for nest building. If we dont start to recycle and help our birds, bees and furry friends I am afraid things will go from bad to worse in a short time. Some creatures are already in trouble. Just a little bit of help from every one will turn things around. Thanks.

I'd just like to say thank you! I suffer from severe depression, anxiety and insomnia, and lately when ever i can't sleep or have an anxiety attack, your videos are the only thing that help to calm and relax me. You and your videos are amazing, thank you so much!

Violetsand 528: I hope you get lots of help and support for your issues, I too feel uplifted after watching Donna's videos. I strongly encourage you to try to work up to a 45-minutes-a-day walk outside. Psychiatric studies have shown that this is as helpful as any medication in the treatment of depression, moving your body through space. It also takes you away from technology, which may also be a contributing factor, believe it or not. (Bring your cell phone, though, to ease your anxiety of being away from 'help' in case of panic). Good luck to you.

Christi Brown Christi, I’m also enlarging this quilt to a king size. I just drew it out and added up the extra squares I’ll need to figure out the materials. Also, I’m adding in 4 extra A units in the corner to bring out the design to the outsides. Unfortunately I didn’t find the exact material I wanted but I do love it!
