It's a wonderful machine. I mastered the classic DX7 and this is like its little modern brother. With a host of slick modern features. Korg have done well here. I'm going to but this soon and start making music with it. Great video.
thank you for this it was incredible! I've been experimenting with the Opsix for drum sounds as well, the filter trick on the kick and snare's white noise makes a world of difference, thanks for that!
Wow you've done amazingly well with this machine! Ive had it for nearly a month and im still trying to get my head around what it can do, there is really a lack of information out there on how to get the most use out of it. Thanks for your help!
Instead of looking for other people to tell you how to use the OP6, why not explore the synth and figure it out for yourself? You have the manual. What else do you need?? We never had RU-vid videos (or downloadable pdf manuals) back in the days and we learned how to use all of our gear. I rarely even touched the manuals, especially at first. I would figure almost everything out by simply exploring the machine in front of me. What does this function do? Tweak it and find out!!!
@@NachtSchreck13 what brings you to this instructional video then? For me, instead of stumbling around in the dark i prefer to walk with the lights on.. I see your point, but sometimes there's things you miss that could take you years to discover. Im on YT cause i like my information fast and now, then i can do some well informed tweaking and discovering, much more fun for me this way but to each his own.
True, FM is still a bit on the niche side. The Opsix would easily be one of the best FM hardware synths out there though - a great balance between usability and amount of features. I'm glad I have one
Hello friend, I am writing to you from Chile, when I update my opsix to 2.0.1 I stop having a connection with the sound library, I tried changing USB between NCM and RNDIS but there is no communication between the PC with WIN and the Korg. I'm thinking it would be nice to go back to 2.0 but how do you do that safely? Thank you so much
Also, do you know if theres a way to split the keyboard? Or make two different synth sounds to be programmed at once like you made different sounds for the drum bits?? Not sure if im making sense lol.
Yes! Only drop the the key-tracking on one side, like I did for the bass in this video (which cuts out after B3). Then if I were to add a lead for the right hand, I'd set its centre note to C4 then drop its key-tracking for below only. Hopefully that make sense.
Your vids are really helpful. I was wondering if you could make an instructional video purely on how to use the sequencer? I'm pretty new and im not sure what all the lanes are for and also if theres a way to slow it right down and make it work like a 64 step sequencer? Also is there a way to delete parts without deleting everything in the step? And moving notes across in a half step or quarter step in the same step? So many questions haha.
Wow I'd never heard of this synthesis! I'm trying to achieve it now and it at least seems somewhat possible - I'll experiment some more to see how far I can get!
@@Indanam i first came across this in the music programm Caustic (win, ios, android, macos) singlecellsoftware.com/caustic which has a Karplus-Strong Synth ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qaOF6PGQYIk.html . the program is like a simpler version of Korg Gadget but was there first, so it isn't a copy of Gadget. After listening to some Karplus videos where the technique was described i though that it could be done in Opsix. unfortunately my knowledge isn't yet developed that far that i can put it into practice. Your "delay" video and this (splitting the drums to separate operators ) made me think: Let's ask him....
Check out this video by Oscillator Sink, which uses the Comb Filter added in version 2.0 to do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2nHjAr5NaWg.html
By "not singular" do you mean kick and snare are not separated? If so, follow my key-tracking settings carefully on both kick and snare to make sure they only play on 1 key each.
