because imo french press and cold brew are different, the brewing method is different. Cold brew doesn’t involve hot water and pressure. It is slow. While french press is totally different
@@aditiioak I think the video is a cold brew but they’re just making it in a French press as the vessel (for straining). So they are using cold water. The reason for the darkness is probably due to a finer grind than regular cold brews? Or maybe they’re using more grounds to water? Or maybe leaving the grounds in the water for a longer duration of time?
@@choco_mufn I'm guessing it's the ratio of grinds and maybe the size too. Use to have a cold brew maker that was just an over sized french press. Guess the size allowed me to use a good ratio cuz my coffee never came out light from it.
In proper cold brew we usually don't pressure or touch the grinds at the end of brewing, reason being it releases its bitter tannins if you do that. Though much less than usual if you had hot water. In the video they pressed it with the French press and it extracted alot more coffee from it. Making it way darker. Could be bad or good depending on what you like but generally cold brew is yo make sure you get none of that stuff in your brew
