I love Turkish tv series because they actually have a story behind them and I never have to worry about my kiddo coming in and seeing something I don't want them to. I'm slowly getting better at understanding the dialog but have some trouble because of the slang and shortened words. Thank goodness I found Can's videos.

I’ve watched many language videos on RU-vid and this one is by far the best for any language I’ve seen. I love how he introduces the words and then applies them to real life scenarios, with images and commentary and the translation and Romanized spelling. It’s cool because you can learn other words from context. It’s a perfectly engaging lesson. He is also very funny!

Warning to International Tourists: English is not spoken widely in Turkey. Istanbul is the only place where many Turks understand English, especially in the tourist hubs for the obvious motive. Outside Istanbul, expect to rely on the translator app. The locals initiate the use of handy app on the smartphone. This makes the visitors even lazier to get interested in even learning a few phrases. As I travel, I try to use the basic phrases along with encouraging the local young people to learn English. It never hurts neither side learning a foreign language to expand the mental horizon by communicating with people from different walks of life.
@matthewshepherd5390

I would disagree with that. In most of the tourist places on the Mediterranean coast English is spoken quite widely

Sen çok iyi bir öğretmensin. Sesini beğendim. (17OO kelime ve cümlelerini dinlemek zor. Ancak 4:31'de Tamam Tamam ile bir şarkı var diyorsunuz. Müzik şeytani görünüyor ve kulağa hoş geliyor. You are a very good teacher. I like your voice. (the 17OO words and frases is difficult to listen to. However, at the 4:31 minute mark you say there is a song with Tamam Tamam. The music looks and sounds satanic.

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it. Have heard these in the Turkish dizi I'm watching but seeing the spelling makes even more sense. Am working on the pronunciation - find it a lil challenging but very fun to learn! 🥰
