There's A LOT of different filters and kits for many different models/brands etc. So be sure to use your Serial Number to look up the correct parts for your transmission. You can do so on the Tuff Torq website. We'll have a video coming Wednesday on how to look up parts incase you're wondering.... www.TUFFTORQ.com And THERE's Your Dinner!!
Amsoil makes a good replacement oil for the Tuff Torq boxes. Handles thermal breakdown better. Had issues with a lawn tractor on a slope in the heat of the summer. Was told to try the Amsoil and never had another problem.
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Strange... Amsoil specifically states that the Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil has both shear and anti-foaming additives. I respectfully disagree with your view on this.
I always hope Taryl will do zero turn stuff, our Toro 42" timecutter has been through hell with a fairly steep hill in our yard. Watching the wife slide down with one wheel spinning backwards I am amazed it even moves anymore.
I used one commerically for 2 years cutting probably 1500 yards or more and many hundreds of hours runtime . Then gave it to my dad. Idler pulley bearings went out twice and uhhh i replaced the front and rear tires once. Still original belts. I replaced them before givbing it to my dad but they showed little sign of wear. Great mowers. I bought a bigger Toro. I also used them working on a golf course. Hands down my favorite brand. Should last a home owner practically forever
On my GRAVLY it has screw oil filters that look just like regular oil filters Like a Engine oil filter. It takes 20w50 oil. That’s a great teaching terrell
Hey Taryl ! I Seen on RU-vid that some Smoes .. from Lawn stars Called you out ...?! . I Don't know who those guys are ,. and I have never even heard of them before . But I wanted to let you know I'm one of your frequent viewers that got your back . I have working on stuff since I was a kid , and I know how to spot a intelligent mechanic that has experience . So whatever challenge those guys have is likely going to be horse pucky . So go kick some asz buddy ! 👍. and thank you for all your videos . Tim from Wisconsin .
Just bought a cub cadet zt2 and it has a tz350. Don’t like the idea of not being able to change out filter. U think it will still last long without changing filter? Great video !!!
OK Taryl since you did that pump it's time to bring that Woods Front Deck Mower ( AKA Grasshopper ) in the shop and show us how to rebuild that Gemini pump/motor . Good tip on the 450 pump seems that's the one to get in a zero turn !!! The customer who owns that Spartan is probably so proud his mower is in the video 🤔😄😆
@Spokes 100 i have the k66 on my 140 deere and it has no drain plug . i think there's a drain plug kit that can be purchased from Tuff Torq , if one is willing to go through the effort of dismantling and reassemble their transaxle to change the oil it would be a good idea to look into it .
Very good, but the Mechanic is great at identifying every problem. I follow you from Italy I follow all your videos, unfortunately I don't know English, I help myself with google translator but the manual operations performed by the super mechanic are understood very well. I wanted to ask you if you have the opportunity to make a video on the husqvarna Awd rider as he hi one but unfortunately there is almost nothing on the net thanks bye.
Hey Terrell I have a Cub cadet zero turn it has a normal steering wheel and it has individual transmissions in the back what type of fluid does it take I’m not sure what the transmission brand is
Who ever like these characters that this guys play well keep on…more power to you. Well, like old Clint said there’s a little to none incompetent between reality and fantasy so keep watching and let Scrappy and Bozo know how it went.
i need to change the fluid in an old hydro-gear transmission. manual says i can use 20w-50. it has an expansion tank too that has to be drained separately.
Hey Taryl, I also have a Spartan mower but it has the 10cc Parker transmissions on it. I can't seem to find any info on servicing them. I'm at the 150 hour mark on my mower and it needs to be done. Do you know if any info on changing the fluid on these transmissions? Thanks in advance! And I love the videos! Joey S.
The serviceable oil filter is the only way to go. I would rather have NO filter and change oil more frequently, than to have a filter that can clog up, and not have a way to replace. I don't understand the thinking behind that. I know that some CVT transmissions and also transaxles in some electric vehicles that have built-in, non-serviceable filters. I don't like that any better. For those, I would rather see "spin-on" filters, like those used on engines.
I have an issue with my SWISHER Zero turn .. It has the Eaton motors that are no longer available after talking with SWISHER ... They stated there are no longer parts for the motors and their new mowers have a different brand motors that would not fit on my older SWISHER. I was wondering if there has been any modifications because EATON is not longer available and the mod actually shows how to convert a different brand motor.
Depending on the model transmission, it seems like eaton doesn't sell parts, just the whole unit. Had a simplicity, that had trouble, I had to buy the whole unit. It was a eaton 778. There are companies after I bought a new one that rebuilds them.
TARYL!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED WHAT BRAND OF KETCHUP PACKETS!!!!!! 10 BUCKS AND MY LEFT NUT SAYS THOSE ARE NOT HEINZ!!!! YOU GOT BAMBOOZLED!!!!! and on yeah... if anyone offers you mustard packets make sure they are the FRENCHES brand (heinz sucks at making mustard compared to Frenches, grey pupon is also an acceptable substitute - or even better depending on your taste). I am really big on condiments... they usually take up a good portion of my fridge - so I make sure they are the proper brands that taste good at least. You know what they say for us lifelong bachelors (not sure if you are but I am - MONK MODE 4 LIFE - MAN GOING HIS OWN WAY HERE!!!) If you're going to have nothing to eat you might as well have something good to put on it!!!! You'd be surprised at what MAGIC I can do with some cup of ramen (I learned a lot from watching those videos from ex-cons on youtube who would get all crazy creative with the commisary they were allowed to buy. Did you know you can make a burrito with cup of ramen even? Great stuff!!! There's even a video on how to make "prison peanut brittle"... I knot your shit!)
Tough Torque in my opinion is about the junkiest rear ends you can buy. They constantly are going out at low hour intervals and the joke of service kits they try to sale you are so overpriced you might as well buy a new transmission, better yet a whole new unit. Back in the day when Tecumseh and spicer made all the gear driven rear ended no one ever even thought about having to repair the transmission as they never failed. I get it tough torque is a company that’s here to make money however they’re Hyrdo units seem to be designed to fail and I just can’t justify the price for the low quality products no matter how I look at them. It’s a lot like The Snapper and John Deere names, used to be some of the best products around and now they are nothing but a Bastardized Zombie brand, that the name alone, gives people a false since of quality.
