No. Not always the case, here in New Jersey. As pathetic as it is 3, 4, or more cops will show up for something as small as your "run of the mill" pull over. It's happened to me, more than once. And, I have no record.

When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
HI, I have recorded the video on my dash-cam, it is amazing how many stories come out of this, the language I used on the video is Polish but I am American Citizen and I do speak English, I think well. Sorry I did not go to the gas station to watch what happened next but I was to busy. Thanks for all the comments.

This was a drug deal gone bad it wasn't road rage that's why there were unmarked cop cars and the Green Jeep was involved he's an undercover cop the cops were waiting around the corning that's how they showed up at the scene so fast
After going through the comments, this makes the most sense so far. Why the heck were there cars backing up and then going forward simply for road rage? definitely more going on. The one guy from the Jeep picked up something on the ground too, likely a dropped bag of drugs or something.

The cop chases after the guy in front with other 2 following like "haha he's gonna get your ass!" then 2 more cops showing up like "haha we're gonna get both of you too"
As others said, I think the white sedan and the jeep were both cops trying to stop the sedan going backward on the shoulder lane. You can see the jeep passenger throwing a stop stick at 0:31 . This is something criminal, not road rage.
You don't hear about alot of crazy shit that happens right down the street form you. I live by toms river and you'd be surprised how many murders and rapes no one hears about its ridiculous
If you didn't get it.....the hyundai accent was being chased by the nissan altima, the jeep was trying to block him in, the hyundai went in reverse, the altima went in pursuit....the hyundai them went forward again with altima in pursuit.....the unmarked crown victoria and marked cars chased the hyundai up the street bating off to the left......sheesh! No one has ever seen knocker vehicles before?
I thought something was wrong with this video when the cars were going backward at the beginning of this clip! I was so utterly confused as to what the heck was going on! All the cars followed the police to see what would happen but in this video, we didn't see anything! LOL, that was fun to watch!
This is NOT super fast reaction to any road rage. It is a dashcam driver rolling up to a roadblock of a police chase already well in progress. And it should not be so confusing. 1 - The roadblock is already in place ahead of the cars in front of Dashcam. There are two unmarked police cars doing the roadblock, and pinning the Bad Guy (in a white sedan). There is a black SUV blocking progress on the road and the bike lane. This unmarked black police SUV is perpendicular to Dashcam direction, facing to our left. There is also an unmarked police sedan (white) sitting in the oncoming lane and facing same direction as Dashcam and Bad Guy, and that sedan that is blocking Bad Guy from going left around traffic and roadblock. This is the situation in place when Dashcam arrives at the roadblock. We do not know how long this chase has been ongoing, but more than a few minutes to be sure because we already have two unmarked police cars involved which have our Bad Guy pinned, and we will soon learn of multiple standard police cars already behind us arriving at the scene to assist. 2 - Bad Guy throws their car in reverse and rolls back along the bike lane, passing Dashcam on the right and going in the opposite direction. Clearly, Bad Guy thinks that they are going to get around the now bunched up traffic and take off in another direction. Unmarked police in white sedan also throws their car in reverse and zooms backward in parallel with Bad Guy, rolling in reverse in the oncoming lane. Unmarked white sedan passes Dashcam on the left and also going in the opposite direction. 3 - Bad Guy realizes soon enough that there shall be no escape at the back of the bunched up traffic. As we shall soon see, back there are standard police cars with lights a'blazin'. So Bad Guy throws their car into drive and zooms forward along the bike lane, returning towards their original spot. Bad Guy will roll back past Dashcam on the right, going forward. But black unmarked SUV sees this happening, and moves black unmarked SUV around to block off the bike lane. We see this happening up in front. 4 - Citizen traffic all stopped in line at the roadblock are not moving, and they leave open the gap that Bad Guy once occupied when Dashcam came rolling up onto the scene. Bad Guy reaches that gap before unmarked black SUV and jumps through the gap, into the oncoming lane, and accelerates away, taking the fork on the left. Unmarked white police sedan has also put their car in drive and rolls past on the left, but too late to pin Bad Guy back into the roadblock. Unmarked white sedan is forced to pursue. We then see the standard police cars that were at the back of the pursuit chase off in the oncoming lane to the left of Dashcam, along with unmarked black SUV. 5 - Bad Guy is well away on the left fork. All the police - marked and unmarked - are in pursuit. The signal changes, and traffic proceeds as normal, with some cars taking the left fork that they wanted to take all along.
Christina Stevenson the guy in the street was the dude in the black SUV so 0:50 seconds that is seen backing up on the sidewalk to to right than chasing the last cop car!
I was a driver in the military and as such have driven all over the world in multiple countries and all over the United States. It is of my - leaning towards expert driver - opinion that New Jersey Drivers are THE WORST DRIVERS anywhere. Maryland drivers are a very close second. I think it has to do with living in New Jersey and having to use jug handles and traffic circles to get anywhere.

People are buying dash cams these days for insurance purposes. It's almost impossible to defend against a fraudulent insurance claim if someone puts their car in reverse to intentionally hit you and claim against it for free.
You mean acting on road rage in an illegal manner. Road rage itself is just an emotion, in the context of driving. 90% of drivers have reported experiencing road rage at some point in their lives. Should 90% of people have their driving privilege revoked, just because they felt anger toward another driver? Just because someone gets angry and experiences road rage, doesn't mean that person acted on it. We're all human. Emotions are normal. I hope what you mean are people who have road rage and drive recklessly or assault another driver should have their privileges revoked. That would make sense.
I'm so confused. 2 cars driving in reverse; 1 on the wrong side of the road then a Jeep comes out of nowhere and THEN 3 cops just so happened to be right at the scene.
This is at the intersection of US Route 9 and Route 35 in Sayreville, NJ, near New York. One of the worst highways in the state. They have bad drivers (like the ones in the video), potholes, poor lighting, narrow lanes, unexpected exit ramps, and just plain madness.
That white car was already being followed by the police, that's why he was driving erratically, probably a criminal who fled. Good job by the police for catching him before he caused an accident! 👍🙌
This is NOT fuc***g road rage. Culprit sees road block ahead, reverses fast then escapes into slow lane followed by unmarked car and joined by flashing car. It's a police CHASE not road rage

Ok, here's what I saw after watching the video over a couple times: 3 Cars- A White Nissan, a White Hyundai, and a Jeep. The Nissan seems to have done something and the Hyundai and Jeep are trying to stop it from escaping the Police. You know the cops are after the Nissan because as the first Cop passes by, the Hyundai lets him pass to pursuit Nissan. As someone already mentioned, the cops were there so quickly because they obviously had already been called in to the area.
this seems more like an arrest not a reaction to "road rage". The white cars were reversing because they saw the policeman in the SUV trying to cut them off.
That must have been a bust, that's why the black jeep tried to block the white car from passing, and then it turned and continued the pursuit with the other officers.
I was almost attacked twice by ragers in New Jersey (once in Ohio.) You put up your finger-and, that's IT. Here in the Detroit area, they fight with GUNS.
It seems that the black SUV is an undercover or an Off-duty officer who probably contacted police in the first place and when he tried to stop the cars they tried to escape in reverse. Then the officer tried to block the car on the right when he saw the other officers coming..Anyone with different explanation ?
