Great tutorial, watched both of the vids to do with super flight. One thing I really wanting to know is how to do the vibrating rocks effect. I'm currently working on a project for film school involving a kid who just developed superpowers and I would really like to add this effect because, well, it's just so awesome. If anyone knows how to do this, please share (in some detail), that would be immensely appreciated.
Hey so I saw this and it is awesome, but while trying to do this myself I for some reason have some problems with all the tiny steps like the masks in the intro. I tried figuring out how you did so I can move on and do the rest of the effect you guys are awesome i hope you continue to make more awesome videos and I hope to be able to recreate the effect.
I haven't even watched the video yet. But I've never seen a Film Riot that I didn't enjoy or learn from. So here's to what I know will be entertaining and enlightening!

This was quite simple really, and simple is good - thanks guys. I think I would try and make the cars and surrounded objects get affected by the take off i.e. get someone to push the cars down and key it in.
Love these quick vids - keep them coming! For the domain.com skit you did...what's your camera setup for filming bits like that? Would love to give this a go myself.
Even though I don't have AE CC or any advanced software, I still love to watch this show and I hope I can make similar sketches/short films in the future. :)

hi rayan could you pleace make an episode of how to de the "moving gravel" effect like in the superman clip just before he takes off. i find it's effect could be reused for a lot of things and deserves its own episode. what do you think? kind regards chris
two things I would do differently: 1. mask out the grass so that it doesn't crack, you could maybe use another texture, but i would use some 3D dirt particles of some sort. 2. the cracks should appear the moment he starts to push off the ground, rather than right after he jumps.
For the rocks: He used particular, emitter type sphere, the particles are custom rocks. He probably wiggled the rotation of the rocks in the particular settings so it'll effect each individual rock. Maybe how the rocks were slowly spreading away, he used time remap. At first its still, then he slowly speeds it up. In order to use time remap on particular-you would have to pre-compose it. (I'm all for tutorials, that's how I learned, but sometimes you have mess around yourself, stop whining).
