wow. this guy deserves way more views. I just think 99% of gamers wouldn't ever think doing a perfect run in this game is possible so I doubt anyone would look for it. I was curious enough to see if anyone attempted it, and just wow.
Thank you. It's been a while (13 years) since I did this run. It didn't take very long to accomplish, but it certainly took some patience. I built up quite a bit of muscle memory for the game from those attempts.
I remember playing this and I couldn't beat this. ( I was like 5 years old or something, now 11.) Even though I feel like I have gotten better at gaming. I dont have the skill for this! This is video is genuinely underrated.
Well done dude! You should be in the VG hall of fame. Insane brother! Thank you for posting! I'm using this as a guide for when I play. On beginner lol. Just started playing on my SNES Classic. Lovin' it so far! Can't believe I missed out on this game as a kid!
Thanks and you're welcome! As a guide, I hope this serves you well. I got this game for Christmas a very long time ago. Probably very close to its launch date. After I figured out how to double jump (>_
@@bubufubu Dude no shit about the double jump! I failed the first level I don't know how many times. Always at the end by the water lol Then I figured out I could JUMP TWICE... WHAT?! 😯 I'm looking forward to finishing the game but have gotten side tracked with some PS4 gamers lately
@@bubufubu Alot or patience and frustration lol If my memory serves me correct the first stone block wasn't so much of a problem. It was the 3rd or 4th stone block. The one after your first encounter with the enemy jumping up and shooting at you. I could get by him, some of the time lol but after that first enemy, there is a large gap I could NEVER clear. Think it was the 3rd or 4th stone block 2nd time rhe tidal wave hits.
@@bubufubu If your talking about the opening area of level one I think button mashing got me over the rock not realizing I could time my jumps. It was only later I realized I could time and calculate my jump sets rather than mashing the jump button.
I have a pretty good idea how much skill is required to pull this off. This was done almost 10 years ago. At the time, there were ignorant speed runners claiming a run like this would be strongly reliant on luck. My comment is tongue in cheek and aimed at those people. And thank you!
This game's final boss is actually easier to beat on Professional Mode than any other difficulty setting. Ironically, the slowdown makes it easier to dodge those lasers. How this was missed by the testers is a mystery, or maybe since this entire game suffers from slowdown they couldn't easily fix it.
Are you saying that there is no slowdown against Sardius on the lower difficulty settings? Are there additional reasons as to why you believe he's easier on the Professional mode?
bubufubu He shoots lasers way faster on professional mode, resulting in slowdown. The rest of the game is hard asf on Professional mode, but the game's final boss is not due to aforementioned reasons. On other difficulty settings, he does not shoot lasers as fast and there is no slowdown making it much harder to dodge them.
Awesome. I attempt the professional difficulty but couldn't beat astaroth using bracelet. Is your gold armor extended the range of that weapon? I don't remember it is being that far. Then again, I attempt to fight astaroth using standard armor.
Agreed on that. I think endings should differ when there are multiple difficulty levels. I do have the pride from accomplishing the task. So, there's always that.
That's up to you. The worth is determined by your motivation(s). I have never done a "No Damage" run on the default setting. I decided to jump right to the hardest difficulty.
I believe you have to open two consecutive chests, without being hit, to obtain the first armor upgrade. Open another chest without being hit while wearing the aqua colored armor and it should contain the gold armor. A fourth chest should give you the shield upgrade. Hope that helps. Good luck.
LUCK? Hahahaha not in this game. It can be luck based on Ghost'N Goblins and Ghouls'N Ghost but in this one I don't remember any places where it's luck based... Maybe the ghosts? Even then if you are quick enough you can react. Man I had a rom where they where invisible until the last second and I still could avoid them. Damn you're good, Astaroth with the Bracelet gave me so much trouble it's ridiculous.
The part about "luck" is tongue in cheek because a lot of speed runners, at the time, were talking shit about how a run like this would be strongly dependent upon luck. Thanks for the kind words.
