I was kind of thinking the same but then I was thinking how dark Majora's Mask was and how dark the actually Mario 2 game was for nes and thought that this would have been perfect. Lol part of me was hoping that this was real. I would have totally lost my sh@t as a kid back in the day if they had actually released a squeal like this!!
I genuinely love the subversion of this seeming like an ARG thing at first but then it’s just revealed that all the creepy stuff is because of King Boo. It’s a rare idea but it’s done well here!
I so wonder... HOW WAS THIS CREATED?! 😰 It's hard to believe this is fan-made as I seriously thought it's really created from Nintendo and that the Beta Gameplay is a mod-made as this is what I really would expect as unfounded footage that Shigeru Miyamoto himself wouldn't release 'til before he passes! Just to keep a hidden time machine for us Nintendo fans which makes me really appreciate growing up with the Mario franchise myself! 😇 Also, the animation left me speechless as this is what I would really expect to see when the N64 first got released at the time as it's so smooth & sharp!
This is probably the most epic shit i've ever seen, related to Mario 64 2. I cross my fingers that we have a rideable Yoshi, the classic powerups, and above all, that the project goes well. 🤞
@@GemerlSonic64 My thirst for a SM64 2 faithful to what was planned/or something else but just as good as that is not satisfied, and I don't care how much """SM64 sequels""" Nintendo launch, my thirst will never be satisfied. *Never.*
I love videos like this because it makes your mind wander! Like, what if game graphics never evolved and still looked like this? This sequel would've, or could've, definitely existed! Makes you wonder what all the other games in this era would've appeared as too.
Edit: Since people seem to think I'm taking this too seriously, just leaving this here so you know i made these criticisms out of good will toward the creator of the video. I enjoy this type of content, and I like their twist. I just wanted to lend my opinion on how i view it compared to old nintendo trailers/teasers. Bowser and King Boo were a bit talkative. In fact, I don't think Nintendo would have a trailer hang on a message like that at all, but different mindsets lead to their trailers compared to projects like these. This was also quite dark/creepy, a little too much so, but other than that it looks great. Very accurate to their style from the time.
i imagine this would be how the E3 trailer would play out. also good use of fooatge from breaking the barrier. I always imagine these internal castle hacks are what a super mario 64 2 would look like. also feel like in an alt universe, this did happen, but luigi's mansion never came to be.
Other than the aspect ratio being a literal square rather than the standard 4:3 that was set during this era, this video is very convincing in terms of animation quality and effects. I'm looking forward to more vids from you. Keep up the good work.
Fun Fact: There was going to be an Mario 64 2 that was going to release on an cd expansion to the original N64 but since its was a major failure many games were canceled including Mario 64 2
This is so damn good, for sec i thought it's real (I wish if it was as Mario fan).Waiting for your next work, keep the amazing work you are doing, i wish all the best!
Everytime I see that part with Luigi’s hand sticking out of Bowser’s mouth if gives off a vibe like submechanophobia or like that video of that guy in Florida who shined a light under a sewer drain revealing a gator staring back at him
Those moments in the pipe where luigi's hand was just sticking out of bowser's mouth was really creepy, sent alot of shivers down my spine. Absolute masterpiece of a trailer.
its cool to see that this isnt some average ARG. in fact it isn't one at all. its all cuz of King Boo, which means that luigi is alive unlike what the pipe segment showed. (well maybe other than the ending being a bit creepy, but could be cuz of king boo again)
And the bowser laugh as echoey is even much more creepy in there when mario went down falling in the warp pipe even if his laugh is slower like that and still it's much more creepy. No wonder there are found footages of these kinds of things or they are just fanmade by them.
This is actually incredible! Even though I knew it was fake, there were parts that I genuinely thought were from a Nintendo commercial. Amazing work, Benayad ❤️
You know how StarFox 2 was a cancelled game but was saved for a true official release for SNES Classic Edition and Switch Online? I really hope Nintendo can do the same thing for Super Mario 64 2. That'd be amazing!
I was waiting for this question XD I tried to think like the developers, because they know that if they include some levels from the beta version, a lot of people will be excited to play the sequel. Additionally, I find that the beta levels are more original.
@@benayadamjed218 No worries, it's normal to forget stuff like this. Other than that, cool animations, I especially liked the scared Mario animations from 0:30 and the creepy star bits from 0:49-1:09.
The trailer is amazing being a mario 64 fan I'm so disappointed that they scrapped such an amazing game prospect. The trailer look insanely dramatic which made me really wish I could play it.
