realizing that there are different lobbies was such a great moment, it's a really simple & genius way to make the game feel more mysterious than it really is.
The fact that there's 4 different lobbies that look exactly the same makes this really look more "personalized" or whatever. When I played this for the first time, I was like "wait, that door takes me to THIS room now?".
7:37, I'm genuinely curious to see if anyone has this sound effect, when I heard that I was scared because it was out of nowhere, but seeing the real beta footage, it was an actual sound from the beta, before entering Bowser First Boss Battle, so I'm genuinely curious how they recreated it as well as if there's a clean version about this sound
it's probably just a recreation of some sort, the fact that old footage is so distorted means that it's much easier to create a convincing recreation. your brain fills in the gaps
Gotta thank you a lot for making these videos, I'm enjoying the romhack a lot and I had noticed the 4 lobbies but didn't know about the fast travel thing, Now all I need is a comprehensive map of the castle cause I always get so loost lol anyway great video!
Whoever made this rom hack and whoever promoted it and made it possible for us to play thank you so much I know you put so much time and effort into it but I appreciate it very much thank you!! :)
Thanks a lot dude! Appreciate the help. Is there any order as to how the levels are meant to be played? It's quite confusing since the level doesn't display names nor stars.
Not really as there is really no set order to how B3313 should be played, but my next video that I am uploading should help you with this. It's going to be a very long video though because it's going to cover pretty much the entire ROM hack.
That jingle plays whenever you fall for one of the illusions in the beta lobbies, typically when you go to the upstairs door or the door that connects Lobby C and Lobby D. First time players will typically not know about the different lobbies and so the jingle just adds an extra layer of effect when they think they they’re entering the same lobby when in reality they are not.
i know im 2 years late maybe but for some reason i can't get to beta lobby A. im stuck at beta lobby B. I've changed save files and restarting the game but im still on beta lobby B. anyway to fix this? im on v0.7
So they updated it? The last time I played b3313 in lobby B in the hallway leading to the courtyard, there was a key door under the two doors to enter this hallway, just like in the original sm64
The game uses the sound during situations where it would play a mind trick on you. The sound is mainly used in the beta lobbies since during a blind playthrough you wouldn't know that there are four different beta lobbies and so you end up going through a door or a painting in the beta lobby thinking that it's the same but it turns out it isn't and you end up somewhere completely different. Apparently the sound was found in the beta leak from 2 years ago but I'm not entirely certain if that's true or not.
True sound. It was included in spaceworld version, when going to Bowser's room (this one with trapdoor). Its probably bugged version of SMB theme but its unknown
I entered the painting to “Whomp’s Kingdom” 4 times and here’s the results: 1st entry: Whomp’s Kingdom 2nd entry: wf.z64 3rd entry: Whomp’s Kingdom 4th entry: wf.z64 NOTES - I was playing on v0.9 - On both occasions of entering wf.z64, the timer did NOT start immediately
