i agree. it's still nice he seems to be a character in Zelda Link's Awakening - despite being an NPC

Wart's whole shtick is that he shows up in the dreams of others. Both SMB2 and Link's Awakening take place in Mario's and Link's dreams, respectively, hence why he's there. So any game using him would have to have the same thing going on (or at the very least, a dream segment.) That being said, I dunno why Nintendo didn't bring Wart back for Mario & Luigi Dream Team, it would've worked really well.
